yes i have just installed the kit in my sig on my truck and am having problems. the truck runs fine with the stock lift pump and all but when i hook up the 392 kit it will start and then just die at differant intervals. sometimes it will run for 30 secconds and sometimes only for a few. it acts like it is running out of fuel but when i jumped the pump and tested for flow and time it continuisly ran and pumped a gallon of fuel per min. . then even when i jumpped it while it was hooked up to my CP3 and bypassed their relay the truck still died. so it is like the kit is telling my ecm to shut down the truck. im so confused! i have been in touch with glacier diesel before i blew my turbo appart a couple weekes ago when i tried the initial install and he tried walking me through all this. i havent got back with him yet as i just got my truck back! do you have any ideas. the truck just has the smarty on it now. i tried truning it to stock and got same thing! sorry for the long post but just thought i would share my expierance!

look at your check valve on the old feed line that you installed and make sure the arrow on the check valve is pointing towards the fuel filter on the motor. check the inline fleetgaurd filter you installed b/w the tank and pump and make sure it also as the arrow pointing towards the motor. check the bypass valve that goes from the T-fitting to the filler neck and make sure the T thats stamped on it points towards the filler neck. if this doesnt work, bleed the system again.

Also, how much fuel is in your tank? you might have your sump sucking air in the tank due to not enough fuel due to its position.

If none of this works, call richard. he'll send you through the same process but i think its your bypass or check valves not facing the right way.

Are you getting any check engine lights? I had some problems with mine and it ended up being the fuel line pinched between the tank and a crossmember.

i had checked everything and it all looks good. no pinched lines or notfing. i had called them and they never returned my call. no check engine lights and no codes. the system has never worked and im starting to get worried. the thing that gets me is when i jump the sylinoid i get like a gallon of fuel in a minute. so i think the system is somehow telling my cp3 to shut down. i need to get a f/p gauge and see what the pressure to the cp3 actually is. anyone else got any other ideas? thanks for trying to help guys!

Him not calling you back is strange. I have only needed to call him a few times but either he answered or he called back within a couple of minutes.

You could get a T with barbed ends and hose clamps and just use any gauge. I had one taped to my windshield for a week or so until I could get my gauges in. They work fine.

I'm very sorry if I missed any calls in the last two weeks. My Mom had a massive stroke right before the holiday and I've spent every spare minute in ICU with her. I've done my best to maintain the level of customer service that you guys are accustomed to and things are finally settling down again.

Please give me a call as soon as possible and I will get back to you if I miss it.

yes you have my prayers and thoughts. please take as much time with her as possible. my truck will always be there when she is better. i will call you this weekend as im in florida again without my truck but will be home friday night. thank you so much. i really believe i bought a quality product!!

Before you can diagnose anything with the fuel system... you POSITIVELY... ABSOLUTELY... have to have a lift-pump fuel pressure gauge (mechanical is best). I bought the fluid-filled mechanical gauge and fuel filter replacement cap from Geno's and tapped the gauge into the top of the freshly installed Geno's replacement cap over the fuel filter, and (with the hood up) ran the gauge over to my drivers side mirror (where I could see it from inside the cab) and started the motor... My in-cab electronic after-market gauge showed NO LIFT PUMP PRESSURE... but the mecanical guage showed a steady 19 lbs... It turned out to be a faulty sending unit on the electronic gauge. To help Richard (at GDP) diagnose you properly you need to have a mechanical gauge hooked up... From there you can run some tests on your bypass valve and other components and start to work from the tank forward. Eventually, by process of elimination, you'll find the cuprit.

Me and Richard went through this on my truck and without the gauge hooked up we made no head-way... :-{} As soon as I hooked up the guage we had "answers" and the process of elimination narrowed it down quickly. :D

Get that replacment cap and guage installed (Geno's can over-night it to you) and get 'er fixed. I love my 392! No matter what I do I can't pull it under 15lbs.

Oh... when your done... permanently install that lift-pump mechanical guage. Anything else is just guess-work!

I put one on mine too. Hauled my camper & towed my boat to MN from Indpls & back, never under 15 on the gauge. Its incredible! It almost makes you think the truck was starved for fuel with the old pump.

sorry richard. i was in florida again for three weeks for work. i had just ordered a mechanical fuel pressure gauge and when it gets here i will be giving you a buzz to hep me troubleshoot this system i have yet to use. im ancious to get it going. now that i have ordered a clutch i will be needing it really bad for future mods. thats the main reasion i havent been in a hurry for it. look foreward to talking to you. im sure we will work it out. thank you. jake

Im back Finally

just to bring this thread back to attention. this is jake under a new username where i will stay. . its been rough the last few months with work and all. i do got the mechanical FP gauge now and am going to be putting the kit back on this weekend to see if i cant figure this out. i have had this complete kit since april and still have yet to use it but you cant fix the prob if you dont work on it (my fault). i need to get this done cause with the MP8, TST and smarty stacked i just know im starving for fuel!! time is money and i sure am not wasting any. things are funally getting back to normal and am home till mid january so im gonna get this figured out. Richard sorry about all this waiting around stuff and not keeping you up dated. just so you know your a hell of a guy and by far give the best customer service i have ever had in the diesel industry. . well its good to be back on here fellas and i hope to learn a lot and teach a lot!

well after being on the phone with rich all night we're still at a stand still. so far we have jumped the pump. tested it for flow volume, removed the TST and The MP8, jumped the pump while the stock system was plugged into the trucks harness to check check GDP's harness for flaws. nothing works. got a steady 18-19 psi and the truck starts but dies at random times. runs for 10 sec sometimes and others it will run for 30. its so weird. something is happening where the ECM is telling the CP3 to shut down cause when the truck dies it still has good fuel psi. if anyone out there has any ideas i know me and Richard at GDP would be glad to hear it. the only other thing i can try is remove the smarty so truck is completely stock or have it flashed by the dealer, truck was built jan of 03??? well ill keep you all posted!!

well i have removed the smarty and cleared the trouble codes so the truck remains completely stock cept gauges and exhaust. truck still dies so i think im going to have to send the system back to GDP but i still fear that with any other system this same problem will happen. because his system holdes pressure i dont think that is the prob. the ECM is telling my truck to shut down when its hooked up. there got to be some parameters somewhere falling out to cause this. i am at a dead end along with rich. maybe bob wagner would know something??

update. i cannot get the system to work with my truck. i cant stress this enough i do not think his system is a problamatic system as it has prooven itself. would reccomend to anyone as my situation is the first one like it. i have decided to go with the fass, it will be arriving shortley. im just goin to send the 392 back and keep the big line kit and filters. again rich is a great dealer and would reccomend over anyone i have ever dealt with.

It almost sounds like you have a fail wire somewhere that when the truck starts is connected but due to the vibration will seperate and the truck will shut off. I am just guessing:confused:
