My 2001 is equipped with trailer tow mirrors. I need to replace both the spot mirror and the main mirror on the driver’s side. Dodge doesn't sell replacement glasses, just the entire mirror which runs $261 at my 5 star dealer. I found both replacement glasses at Burco but I guess I have to go through a dealer to order. I called a local Burco dealer and they want $39. 95 for the main mirror and $59. 95 for the spot mirror!! That is $107. 48 after tax for the 2 mirrors! I can buy 2 new complete mirrors at DodgeParts for $199. 10. I have also sent a price quote request to AutoMirrors but have not received a reply yet. Any suggestions on where I can order the replacement glasses from? I have tried local glass shops but no one can get the convex spot mirror.

Thanks

Len

My guess would have been a local glass shop. However I am going to be adding tow mirrors to my 99 3500. My new ones are power for a 2004 and I need the base for a 2nd gen tow mirrors. If you end up buying new mirrors and are wanting to sell old let me know. I can be reached at -- email address removed --. Thanks Jim

I was at a Binswanger Glass location here in Houston last weekend getting a windshield stone chip repaired. They advertise that they can replace any automotive mirror glass. Have you given them a call??

I lost the spot mirror on my passenger side. Seems the double-stick tape and glue can let loose after a couple years and let the glass go crashing to the ground when you close the door :( I never checked into it, but I thought about buying a regular round spot mirror and having a glass shop (or a friend who works stained glass) to nip and grind it into shape. May not be any less costly, but maybe worth asking about.

I was told by DCC that the mirrors come from Donnelon corportation in Michigan. I have not been able to find this company. In the mean time I bought a bubble mirror from JC Whitney for $1. 00. Would reallylike to get an OEM mirror though.

Try Donnelly (or Donnelley) Corporation.

Yep, that's right. I had the glass replaced on the passenger side on my previous '00 3500 tow mirror. The local Binswanger shop did the job for less than $35. 00. They normally stock the replacement glass at the local shop, but had to order mine so they installed it free the next day after it arrived. :D

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I just called Binswanger in Plano. He needs to see the mirror so he will know exactly which one to order so I am planning on going first thing Saturday morning. Hopefully he can get the spot mirror for less than $60.

Thanks again.

You could make your own too, see my readers rigs, I used a convex mirror that had a little more curve to it so I get more view then the oem convex. (I also flipped my mirrors). Fit of the convex will be slightly smaller the more the curve but you really can't tell.
