New Offering from MB!

Has anybody had any experience with Glastron Boats? I just put a down payment on a 2k Glastron SX-195 (19ft with a 5. 0ltr Carb Inboard motor). Before I finalize financing, I wanted to bring this up to my TDR family and see what kind of feedback I can get... to help me decide if I bought the right boat.

I want a boat that the wife and I can go cruising in and be comfortable. . but have enough power to jump on skis if we want.

I was looking at Chaperrals, Four Winns, Rinker, Reinell and a couple others... I just didn't like designs. Any information would be Greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kev

I don't or never have owned a boat. I do see a lot of glasstrons on trailers going to east texas for freshwater fishing. Also a lot here at home going in the salt water. I think you will like it. I see a bunch of em.

Glastron should be a fine boat.
I did see that you wanted comfort. My great uncle owned a marine dealership in the past and we just about had the pick on any we wanted to run.
It is fun to ride in a nice fiberglass boat.
But after many years of getting bounced it is my choice to ride in a pontoon. The pontoon has a very smooth ride, all the room you could ever want, and you can get any type of engine you want. I prefer the 4-cycle outboard since there is not a diesel on the market.
If you can stand the ride on rough water go for it. Guess i,m getting to old to be bounced around. Y'all have fun.

Had a nice Glastron growing up and knew several more people that did. They were pretty popular on the lake I grew up on. I like them; they are nice boats. Ours survived 3 teenage boys (and all our friends) beating the you-know-what out of it all day, all summer long. We'd ski sun rise to sunset some days and when not skiing, run it wide open all over the lake. Our boat lasted I don't know how many years of abuse before it finally gave up the ghost. Got some water in the fuel tank and engine (outboard) and during the clean up, we found the transom was developing a crack so we had to retire her. I'd buy another Glastron.

Glastron is hard to beat! We had several as I was growing up, very tough boats. Have fun!
You'll love it!

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I only have oneconcern about the boat. That is that, from reading the review of the SX-195 on glastrons website... it seems like a good boat, but for a 19 ft boat. . they sure are making it out to be their "Cheap Model. " Which really surprised me. Do you guys have any feedback on this review?
