Pres. Bush taking away overtime pay bill

greetings from a new member

How come we don't hear anything now a days about global warming? Is someone telling stories:rolleyes: .

All I keep hearing about are all the LOW temp records being broken every day.

Al Gore was running his hole about how Bush is to blame for Global Warming last week or the week before.

There is still "scientists" whining about it, trying to get all kinds of restrictions put on the US manufactoring,- but not the rest of the world.

Seems a bit suspicous to me.

In the history of the world, mankind is but a micro spec in time. In that time we've only recorded temps for maybe a little over 100 years and Al thinks he has a handle on global warming.

Yeah it's probably Bush's fault, he's only been president 3 years and the EPA emissions standards are tougher now than they were during the Clinton/Gore years. Darn global warming is going to lead us right into the next Ice Age, I think alot of smart people make alot of dumb assumptions.

you speak of dumb assumptions... .

the weather is playing right into the global warming theory. climates of the world will be effected differently. The NE united states is supposed to see drastic temperature swings because it is directly effected by the gulf stream. So is northern europe (remember the france thing).

I must be making dumb assumptions again though right?

p. s. I think the theory is crap myself, however, the recent weather patterns play right into what they predict.

Oh yeah... guys it's winter man, the enviro whacko's only complain about global warming when it's hot as hell. Now that it's cold they change their tune to shutting down power plants cause they make extra smoke this time of year haha

Just a bunch of overpaid environMENTALists that don't have a clue that Al Bore made/discovered the Green house effects too.

I've been checking temps around the world on the Weather Underground website and pretty much the entire Northern Hemisphere is seeing some pretty cold temps overall. While there's been some shift in the polar cold air mass it hasn't really warmed up on the other side of the planet.

Remember the Ozone layer issue? I searched the 'net and counldn't really find any updated info, the last trending info I found had it swining back the other way. Probably had less to do with human influence than normal global cycling

That's what I'm talkin about. Do you think we'll see reports on the news this evening about "global warming" tonight?

I don't think so. . . Not when this is the coldest winter on record since 1977 in the midwest.

E-mail, call, write your state legislators now saying; Whats Up?

Ask them:

Why are you restricting bussiness and emissions with govermental regulation to correct a ghost (global Warming).

I think we need to give the legislators a few years off, or demand they put a little bit more thought into all the facts before passing laws that do none of us any good.

There is not one shred of evidence out there that global warming is linked to man. We have only collected about a 100 years of weather data. I can tell you that the earth tends to cycle. You may get 50 years of some warming. Then 50 years of cooler temps. At one time the upper midwest was in an ice age. We have ten thousand lakes in this state to prove that theory.

I do know that volcanoes and super valocanoes effect the climate more than man does. Remember mount pinatubo when she blew. The global average temps actually dropped several degrees do to ash blocking some of the suns rays.

The problem is enviro nazis acting like a bunch of uneducated know it alls. They get all there knowlegde from the news on t. v. To me you need to look way back in history. Look at the scientific evidence. Then you will have a better understanding.

Think of all the busineses that have moved out of this country. Just to avoid tough emisions standards. Personally I don't think we should do business with a country with lower emisions than are country.

Don't get me wrong. I like clean air too. But theres only so much we can do.

This is an interesting paper I researched a while ago.

http://users.erols.com/dhoyt1/

In one of the lnks inside this document, it talks about the future climate... . One sentence in this said "Also note that 70% of the last 10,000 years were warmer than the present. "

Jeff H is right, they're only looking at data models that are 130 yrs old at best. When a global scale is introduced and data models that are millions of years old are compared, it's all a drop in the ocean in comparison.

10k to 20k years ago Canada was a glacier, 145 million years ago Dinosaurs walked the same ground. Seems to me global warming and cooling has been going on a long time.

I agree. Do we really think we are smart enough and powerful enough to effect a climatic change? Okay, let's say we are. Now then. I consider "mother nature" and no other entity to be perfect. Figure this. What we may see as a calamity is only as Boomer posted, a spec in time. Where as "mother nature" deals with it and goes on.

Regardless of beliefs, ie; evolutionary or biblical, no matter what we do as a species, who is to say that it is wrong? Does it really matter that as a species, we make a right or wrong choice? So we die out a bit sooner or later, say a few thousand years. So what?
