First Off How Do you like it?

If you own other Glock firearms How would you compare the G36 to the G30 in terms of balance / Recoil being it's so thin.

All I've ever owned Glock-wise is my 23 (. 40 S&W Compact). I've had it 8 years and consider it the best firearm in general I've ever purchased. Just a good, tough, dependable, sidearm.



My shooting buddy bought a SIG 9mm about 5 years ago and the upper receiver exploded in our faces at the range. He was rapid firing when all of a sudden it made a "plink" noise and parts went flying. He got hit by some pieces that damaged his safety glasses. Lucky! I like them too but cant buy one now because of that. SIG gave him a new one free including k-kote silver finish and compensated barrel.

I shot my buddys for about an hour one day at the range. It shot pretty straight, but to me it felt like there was sand in the trigger action. Maybe there was but the trigger was real rough as you pulled it. Try it out and compare it to some others before buying it. Even if they put a dry fire cartrage in it, you would feel it if its rough.

Mine is totally opposite. The trigger action is perfectly smooth... as if it were a revolver. It could be bad from the factory or maybe it was full of sand. About the only cleaning I give the lower receiver is a nice blast of air.

You dont hear much bad stuff said about Glocks.

I wouldnt get the 36 unless youre going to carry it.

For a range gun, the 21 is much more pleasant to shoot. The 30 will give you 10 rounds.

I want a 10mm next.

I just got a Kimber custon stainless target in 38 super.

I'll admit my 23 is just slightly too big for a carry gun... although it was originally called the "compact 40". So I'm interested in something even smaller.



Most people I know won't argue about the quality of the glock... just the looks! Some like... some hate it. But nobody I've met will argue it wont shoot!

I have heard good reviews on those pistols from guys who own them, although I am not a fan of polymer pistols no one can argue that the Glocks are not reliable and durable arms.



The mini-Glocks are susceptible to jamming if the shooter "limp wrists" the pistol, they need a firm grip and fairly stiff wrist to recoil against for reliable cycling. During CHL class there were several women who used the small Glocks and suffered jams during course of fire, apparently in the excitment of firing "for time" they let their grip shift unawares.

Kinda Like The Sauer Compact 9. They suffered the same type of Jamming issues when "Loosely" fired.

Actually someone did a test on Glocks (maybe Vickers?) and the Glock failed the sand test miserably. Seems as though they should come from the factory with the little plug in the grip, but they dont. A five buck item.

The H&K was #1 in the test. The test included (if memory serves me) the 1911, Baretta 92, Sig 2XX pistols, and the Browning hi-power. I'm probibally forgetting a few others.

I'll see if I can find the test.

For what it worth, I have carried sidearms for 20 + years and have carried several different revolvers (before autos were cool) and automatics and I can say my Glock 40 is the best yet. Control, easy to use, capacities, its been a great weapon so far!

I don't think you can go wrong with a Glock.

I did carry a Glock for a short time, 26 9mm "mini Glock".

It is the first gun I would be willing to sell, but not because there were problem.

I can't say anything bad about the gun, fired every time.

You either love them or you don't.

I am surprised to hear about that SIG failure, I own a couple of them, P220, P232. Very nice guns.



I purchased a Kimber PRO CDP ll, what a great gun!

I love shooting it, and it never leaves my side! Well almost anyway.



I'm also trying out a S&W AirLite PD. A very easy to carry gun,

but not really much fun to shoot.



If you like the Glock, I don't think it will ever let you down.

I like the way the Glock handles and the balance and trigger pull is a little hard, but I could live with that. After shooting my wifes model 19, my trigger finger will go numb. One time after shooting 4 or 5 mags my finger was numb for 3 days. I thought I was the only person to experience this but I have met several people who have the same problem. So I now have a Para-Ordanance 12-45 with extended magazines and some custom work. It isn't a deep concealed carry weapon but will do for occasional concealed carry.

Tim I have a Model 32C ( compensated . 357sig ) it is very well balanced, and fun to shoot. the . 357sig is a kickass round!! If ya ever wanna shoot it give me a ring I gave a indoor rabge about 10 min. away from my house

Glock Makes a Hard holster (Adjustable release) that I have my eye on.

I prefer leather to kydex. Milt Saprks makes some nice stuff. The Versa Max 2 is supposed to be about the best, especially with the optional clips.

It's a personal taste, some guys prefer the plastic.

Sidearmor,Ky-tac and Blade-tech come to mind for plastic.
