I'm looking at fuel pressure gauges, and was wondering if anyone has used glowshift fuel pressure gauge? or what do you guys recommend. I'm interested in the electric gauges ,not mechanical.

I have read many non-complementary things about Glowshift. Hewitt or Isspro are better choices IMO. I have well over a million miles on my Isspro boost gauge and EGT gauge. The EGT gauge wire and probe only lasted about 1.2 million before giving bad readings. I've only had the Isspro EV2 pressure gauge for about 500k with no problems. I bought two senders and have them wired to a toggle so that I can also read oil pressure.

I have used glowshift fuel pressure, egt, and tt for over three years without any issues.

I’ll agree with Gary. I’ve not heard good things about Glowshift and have had great service from Isspro.

Obviously not everyone with GS gauges is going to have problems just as much as not everyone who uses ISSPRO is not going to have any problems... The point is there's a lot more threads containing GS related problems than there is any other gauge issues.

My theory is why rely on a cheap gauge to read important engine vitals if you consider those vitals important? If the gauge cant be trusted for accuracy then it would be better to not have it at all. Just my opinion though...

So KATOON, I'm going to get the ISSPRO from GENO'S,. So do you run a pressure gauge? If so how did you hook up the sending unit, top of fuel filter housing , off the pump, or a t in the fuel line. I know I'll need a snubber, but trying to look up how to install the sender unit everyone does it different , most of what I read is for the vp44 pump and not much on the P7100 PUMP.
THANKS DAVE

My fuel pressure gauge setup is not one that I can suggest because its not conforming to the "guidelines" of what anyone should do. I have an ISSPRO factory snubbed mechanical gauge reading from a 1/8" stainless steel braided line coming off a tapped outlet fuel fitting of the fuel filter housing. The line then runs up another snubber on the fender connected to a tee fitting with a test port schrader valve for testing whenever I may want. From the tee the line runs up through the firewall and in the pillar to the gauge with all -3 JIC fittings throughout.
Rubber lines dont reduce fluid pulsing since the signal is less than the flexibility of the rubber so snubbers are a must. I'd suggest not connecting directly the injection pump inlet because thats where the fluid pulses are highest.
If you run an electric gauge (which are very popular these days) then just make sure you get the sender as far from the main fuel line as possible.

Just a question, but, why do you feel like you need a fuel pressure gauge? About the only reason I can think of “needing” a FP gauge on a 12 valve is to help tell you when you need to change the fuel filter.

Great point...!
My bad for not noticing what the OP truck is. Savage54, disregard all my yammering.

Driving truck for 35 plus years, I've always had a fuel pressure gauge in the trucks I drove. I just figured why not on the dodge to monitor the pump and the filter. plus since I retired march 2019 and now stuck home do to this crap going in WA and every where else:mad: ,it gives me something to do.o_O

In that case, I’d just get the items you mentioned from Gene’s instead of Glowshift. They’re cheaper from Gene’s. They’re at the bottom of the page you linked for the gauge.

So are you talking about theses https://www.genosgarage.com/product/vulcan-fh/gauge-related and https://www.genosgarage.com/product/bf-bbs010/gauge-related. do you think I need anything else ? or can I just use a snubber on the fuel filter housing with the sender off that ? or do I still need to keep the sender as far away from the fuel line ?

You can get the gauge adapter fitting and replace the banjo fitting on your injector pump with it. Then use an 1/8” needle valve just barely cracked open somewhere in the line running to the gauge or sender if you’re going with an electrical gauge. Just google “12 valve fuel pressure gauge install” and you’ll see what I mentioned in multiple threads
