Lower Michigan Meet and Greet

TDR Members in the Xenia, Ohio Area

The GLTDR yearly business meeting is usually in January. Last year it was in Indiana. The year before it was in Michigan. Illinois seems to be the most suggested at our regular Sun nite chat. The regulars are asking for suggestions on a city and place (hotel). How about some input and interest for some food, fellowship, and fun. All suggestions welcome.

Thanks Kirk

kaptn,

What kind of place are you looking for?

Do you want a big eatery like Old Country Buffet with separate dining/meeting room? Tinlet Park off 159 st. & Harlem off I-80

Are you looking for a motel/hotel? What price range? How many people?

The Stadium bar/meeting in Bridgeview just off 294 at 95 st has plenty of room & big time parking.

Many thanks for the idea of an Illinois meeting place to draw us new people into the mix.

So many questions.

I have sent my $ and info to Mr Lovell and have yet to hear back. So now I read on the GLTDR forum :

As the GLTDRs first paying member, I say shut it down. This club was formed for a simple reason- get toghether with Cummins guys and have a good time. Well, we did that, and as time went on, there were more events involving our trucks, outside of GLTDR.

The GLTDR became less important.

Now after reading this it has me a little worried. A few of my friends and I are would be extremely enthused to go to meet and greets of GLTDR and other events associated along that line.

IColecman, I will check with David tonight and see what may be the holdup. Sounds like we are moving forward on a great winter meeting. Because of the large geographic region the GLTDR covers somebody will have a long drive. Hopefully by rotating the place everybody gets an easy year now and then.

Ian,

The GLTDRs website is what the shut it down was intended for. It was anold discussin.

The club is there, the ahrd work as been done, join, and resurrect it!

I cant wait to join, Im just waiting to hear back from Mr Lovell.

thanks for the input, I was a little worried.

Hi Ian, I know I have conversed with you through email and all is well. I just wanted you and the rest to know a lot has been going on in my life lately and the end result is lower back surgery scheduled for Dec 15th. I hope you can understand the situation and try to get to some of the GLTDR functions that are close to you. We are a good group of people and have a WIDE variety of skills and sense of humors!!!

David

David and other GLTDR guys- Thanks for leading me in the right direction, Im looking forward to many fun events with everyone! David- dont be down too long!!! I hope everything comes out A+ in the surgery and recovery!

Ian

I say if we get twenty people in Illinois at the meeting it will be a success. The membership of the GLTDR has helped in the growing number of regional events gain such enormous popularity. (Thunder in Muncie, Scheid, etc )

So please come on out if you can and bring your suggestions to make 2005 a bumper year for the GLTDR. We do have committed members who want to see the GLTDR thrive. Kirk :)

If there is an event in IL I would go!!

Just printed the form to join the GLTDR! I the mailing info still the same??

Hi K, yes the mailing address is the same and make the check out to GLTDR if you will. I am going into the hospital in a couple of days so your check may not be deposited for a few weeks. It isn't a problem, you just won't see your cancelled check back from the bank real soon. By the way where is Coal City? I haven't had a chance to look at a map.

I will throw out a place or two to be in the middle of everything in Illinois. How about the Decatur area? I don't know of the places there but it probably wouldn't be too hard to find a place to hold a meeting. What do you all think?

decatur as in this one (attached image)?

Sorry I just had to add the truck pic... I'm becomming known as the "TDR Truck" ah well!

Hi fellows, I am back home. The surgery went well and so far no problems except having to deal with the surgery site pain. If I don't have a relapse I will be in the chat room Sunday the 19th.

It is sad that the GLTDR site forums got hacked by some scumbag. I hope we can get it back up soon. It was not being used a lot but it came in handy for club news and events.

David

Glad to hear a bout the surgery going well David! I remember you giving me words of encouragement on mine not that long ago. Sorry to hear about the forums - if you guys need some help let me know.

gltdr.org site problems? Ive tried to get onto the GLTDR site and it comes up to TDR's main page... . still dealing with the hacking idiots?

Ian

Steve thanks for the kind words. I talked to Doc and he said he would get to it when he could. Maybe you could give him a call if you like to work something out. He said he had some things backed up but didn't know if it was going to work or not. I just would like to see the site working properly again.
