GM and Ford to merge?

I have mixed emotions about this, but only hope that in the end we'll have better vehicles and keep our American workforce employed!!

They can own whoever they want. I am glad to have Dodge trucks with Cummins engines under the hood!

if they had done this years ago it would have saved a lot of lives in the ford rear end crash fires. GM had a plastic vent on the rear, Ford had a metal one. In a rear end crash it used to cut open the gas tank. Ford's fix was to put a plastic sheild between the rear and the gas tank.

They are merged already. I believe it's called Collusion. Same reason why ford recommends BP fuels... Hmmmm. .

I read an article about 30 min. ago that said they in fact did discuss it and decided that would be really stupid, so decided not to do it... . which (in the corporate world) means it will probably happen within 6 months.

I agree with Bill Lins, Ford would be stupid to agree to merge with GM. GM's debt ratio for the retired workers to working people would break both companies. JMHO
