Why didn't Ford make an Inline 6????

97 Pete problems

whine whine The truck is to loud.

whine whine The truck rides rough.

whine whine I lost $ on the trade.

whine whine The wife will not ride with me.

I six months he will post on the ford site how he sold the duramax and is now driving a Great Ford. He will repeat everything about the noise, ride, $, and tell them all how his wife left him for a dodge man. Poor chump really sounds confused.

Hard to figure how anyone in their right mind could buy a truck and THEN find out "it's too noisy for my little sensitive ears". That p**** is driving just what he deserves now. A Chubby!

Wow, what's will all the personal attacks! Ya'll sound a bit insecure. I drove a Dodge Cummins for 2 years and loved it, now I drive a GMC/Isuzu/Allison, love it. So attack away.

PW, did you drive the Cummins with earplugs in? If so, we'll be glad to attack you. :p :D

ROTFLMAO:D :D

I have to agree with Peter about the personnal attacks but damn that's funny... Thanks Wade I needed that... ... still laughing

I put up with it for a couple of months and then decided it was time to opt for a truck that I didn't have to wear earplugs for the entire time I was on the highway - yes, I had 'em in the truck, wore 'em all the time, and they were there when I traded it in for the next poor fella.

Anyway, I took a bit of a beating on the trade (not too bad) and ended up with a 2002 Crew Cab Duramax Long Bed - what a ride.

Sounds like a happy ending to me. He's happy with his Dmax, someone maybe picked up a Dodge for a good buck. That's why we have three brands to choose from. At least he did not trade for a rice burner.

"REAL" men should BUY and DRIVE what THEY want - WITHOUT catering and worrying about what OTHER people think of their choice - when someone critical of my truck is interested enough to contribute to my payments, THEN I *might* listen to them a little!

But I doubt it - after all *I* am the one that's gotta DRIVE it!;)

Whatinheck do WE care what a former DC owner says about these trucks? - one of my biggest gripes about the GM Duramax bunch has been their childish, "BOO-HOO, the Ford and Dodge guys don't LIKE my truck, BOO-HOO"... They're so paranoid, a simple honest question or minor criticism will get ya tossed off their board

Aren't WE better than that?

Let 'em play their juvenile bashing games, it's not of the SLIGHTEST interest to ME, cuz *I* am a MAN, and make my OWN truck choice, and don't give a DERN what THEY think of my choice!:p ;)

No ear plugs here.

The Dodge I had was not that loud on the inside, no louder than my GMC/Isuzu. On the outside is a totally different story, but the Cummins was always music to me anyway. I've got two tractors on the farm Case IH 7130 and a 8910 both have the 8. 3 Cummins in them. So I get to here that music whenever I want, and sometimes a little later than I'd like. To tell the truth, I don't like the way V8 diesels sound.

Got a great deal selling my truck to a buddy. Do I miss it? You bet I do. Would I trade back? Nope. This is as close to a half ton diesel I can get. Dodge was too big to go bouncing around the farm all day. If I was just gonna stay on the highway, I'd buy a 2003 Dodge with the Cummins.

Ok, let me see if I got this straight... .....

You went on their website and then posted here complaining about them complaning about our choice of truck. Geeeze I'm gettin' dizzy.

We're startin' to sound like some of the "Harley RUB"s.

(Rich Urban Bikers)

Reminds me of an old "Stones" song.

"Can't be a man 'cuz he doesn't smoke the same cigarettes as me. "

I'm with Gary (gawd that's scary ain't it?;) )

I pay for my truck, you drive whatever floats your boat.

Now stepping off my soapbox.

It's all in good fun

If they can brand bash my truck then I'm bashing theirs. :p

I've got a good freind with a Dmax, it's a great truck for what he does with it. Drives it to work every day and never hauls more than his drag car. ;) The best part is he rags me about my loud smokey Dodge and I rag him about his quiet girly cheby. :D

Sorry if I offended any of you, maybe you would be happier with a Cheby. ;) :-laf :-laf

Any body got a membership to the Dmax site? If you do copy and paste this over there. :D PLEASE

As long as it's just good natured ribbing it's cool. But I don't care for the guys(irregardless of brand)that think their crap don't stink and there is no other truck but what there driving... Doug

Well yeah

Well the poor boy set himself up (with a little help) for it dontcha think? Heck yeah, it's good-natured! I love saying "Chevy Sux" and "Genital Motors" and "Diddlemax". I've said "Ford Sucks" countless times in all my years of Ford ownership--I earned that right. I've never liked V-8 diesels and will always bash them--even a Cummins:eek:

Now back to the personal attacks! All the folks with the above attitude that I've known personally have been _get this_ Chevy drivers.

It's just an automobile. I'd just as soon drive a Ford if it's a gas burner. :p:rolleyes:

Ya'll hurry up now, before we get shut down.

I read all his whining on their board the other day too. The dude just sounds like one those whiners, just wait and see if he has any trouble with his new love, he'll be in tears. Like someone else stated why would anyone who thinks a Cummins is just too loud to drive buy one in the first place? As far as the power being doggy, c'mon dude either there's something wrong and fixable with your motor or your smokin something. Lastly the ride, I can't for the life of me figure this one out, I really think my truck rides very nice for a BIG HEAVY DUTY truck. If I wanted a low slung plush riding girlie truck I woud have looked an IFS chevy I guess.

Just my opinion.

Its just like the BANKS Site... . you only hear the good side... you know he will bite his lip and not post anything, because he knows deep down the billygoat will smoke that weak, lame maxipad!!! I have a Z-71 gasser with a 350, and love it! now at work, I drive the worthless 1998 6. 5 TD in a breadwagon looking type van... It takes me over 4 mins to get up to 65 mph!! Oh well, he will learn one day... it seems like he is the one wearing the maxipad in the family, as well as sissing around in one too! :D :D :D :D :D

Actually, I think they got together at GM and said, "WHAT? We actually sold some ugle Avalanches?! Heck, let's see what happens if we put the Avalanche grill on the full sized pickup. If they'll buy that they'll buy anything!"

Aquired taste

My wife didn't like the noise/music of the Cummins at first either. After awhile she grew to love it "It is the sound of power, dependability, security, and music to my ears" is what she says now. As far as getting a Duramax, not me, too quiet, too expensive, and too complicated to work on yourself. I am not going to trust 43,000 dollars to some pimply faced kid with a laptop and a cresent wrench. The Duramax might be the finest thing since white bread, never liked white bread. Give I-6 power and torque in a diesel, give the V-8s to the gasser crowd.
