GM Duramax availability

My friend was trying to locate a Duramax on the lot for sale in Colorado. He says no dealers have any to sell. I also checked all dealers in my area and none were available.
All said a order would take at least 18 weeks
Is GM production this bad,or are they limiting production to get the public to service test them before the build anymore. ?
Try your dealers and see what they have to offer. !!

My Dodge dealer is also a GM dealer. Best folks I have ever dealt with. I send all my RV customers to him. You can talk with them on their nickle @ 1 800 BOSSIER or for those that insist on hiding behind a crt, www.bossiercountry.com Ask for Johnny Bennett, he is the head sales mangler. Tell him I sent you. And no, I don't get a kickback. I have sent a number of TDR guys there and not one complaint. He does have Dmaxes in stock and more on the way.

I have seen at least 6 Duramax's on the lots USED. These are 01 models and are sitting on ford and dodge lots. Most chevy dealers also have at least 2 new ones around here. BTW, all of the used ones I have seen have the allison transmission. As soon as I have a little time to waste I am going to go drive a couple of them and see what I think.

I went to a dealer in the Houston area to look at one (A Duramax) last year. They didn
't have any on the lot. (People were buying them as they rolled off the truck)
They told me each dealer only gets 13 trucks on this first run.
I priced one though, same equipment as my truck. It was 6 to 7 thousand more and I know I couldn't haggle with them.
It will be a while before there are some trucks out there to look at, and the prices come down...

I have two friends at work that both have the 3500 Duramax. They must be great trucks for both waited 5 months to get theirs: they paid well over sticker price (market adjustment). neither tow anything with them and both swear how fast they are--so the other day i told them that i would race them---brought along my wifes car and smokes them. Told them next time they are in the market for something racey then buy a Dodge Intrepid RT. Diesels are made for pulling not for showing off---what idiots.
