Wiring harness...what do I need?

Suburban lift advice

I search everywhere and I couldnt find what I needed to know.

I found out everything today and I decided to post it for anyone else who needs it.

You will also need the dodge flywheel and housing, bellhousing, and all related clutch parts.

on a 96+ gm 4500 trans all you need to is change the following to make it

dodge compatible.

input shaft-------- $66

bearing retainer----$39

seal----------------$5

input bearing--------$9

all prices are current as of 12-29-06 from www.TBTRANS.COM

Ask for Terry. I have no affiliation with them just found a good deal. Terry seemed quite knowledgable about the whole swap and told me he has sold parts to do it and done several inhouse.

Now on the gm input shaft the 96+ has 22 splines

On the older 4500's they used a 20 spline. If you have that one youre gonna need more parts

Trans case and all the above + 2 more gears. He quoted me a couple hundred more total for the parts. ( I think the case quoted was used)

Hopefully this helps someone else

thankyou for the info,i will be doing the same conversion as you are, - the 4wd part. was gonna start looking for prices on the transmission parts,i pretty much have every thing else thats needed. goodluck with yours...

Thought id add a little info here. The bellhousing from a v-10 dodge is the same as the Cummins. The parts interchange books at all my local boneyards say its different but they have the same casting number right on the housing. Its the same exact part.

So if your having trouble finding one ask for a v-10.

As a bonus the v-10 stuff is usually cheaper at the boneyard for some reason.
