Cleaner Fuel ???

My wife`s truck is a 2000 crew-cab with the5. 7 gasser. The first fuel pump went out at 100,000kms(60,000 miles)and it was quiet till the day it quit. I replaced it with a Carter pump, the first replacement I put in was really noisy,so the parts store gave me another, this pump was quiter but still pretty noticible. The parts store said they were all like that. I have been running it like that for about 15000kms(10000miles),but with two little kids I always worry about it dieing. Iknow this is a diesel site but my Cummins just keeps running. Thank-you in advance

Is it makeing a humming noise or kind of a zrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. You are good to go. Every gasser chevy I had with FI had that same noise and I drove the heck out it.

From what I have been around a gasser GM's. I do not use aftermarket pumps anymore. Most of the ones I have used don't last much over a year. I use OEM pumps now.

The last aftermarket I installed lasted 1 year and 15k miles. :(

I agree with Philip on that one. When I was a mechanic I only installed oem pumps in Ford and Chyrsler and aftermarket for GM. Then we started having GM's with replaced pumps coming back again with bad pumps and switching to oem's fixed the problem.
