Go Ahead and Run the School Bus Red Lights

Guys in OHIO especially.....



This is really really REALLYdumb.



When a motorist runs the RED LAMPS of a school bus the authorities are now requiring the following information:



Vehicle Make/Model/Color

License plate Number

Description of the driver and and passengers



Do you see where I'm going with this?



As a school bus driver/Maintenance supervisor, I'm appauled. That's school lingo for ticked off.



I'm not suprised thay ask the driver for the VIN NUMBER TOO!!!!!



STUPID!!



These are kids we be talking about, outside of a bus on the ROAD. Not cattle.



PLEASE don't run the reds. If you do so, in Ohio, you'll probably not get caught. :-{}

i have only run the reds 1 time, and that was because i came around a blind corner, to a school bus with yellows, right as i got up on it, they threw out the reds on, i was ******, no way i could get stopped al this was within i would say 50 - 100 yards, sometimes you can't help it because of position, but if you can see it coming definately do not run around the busses

I'm confused - what else could they do if they aren't there? It sounds to me like they are trying to get that information so that they can prosecute the person.

CA is pretty much the same way - school bus red lights is very large fine out here.

Totally disregard the kids, and ram the *******. Then you'll know Exactly the car, lic plate, vin number, passengers, drivers eye color, hair color, shirt color, and anything else you could need.

In CA, a school bus driver may submit the license plate, location and description of the driver to the local LE agency and form letter will be sent to the registered owner of the vehicle advising of the witnessed violation. Yeah, stupid stupid people passing laws because even dumber people can't seem to obey the basic laws... .

That is the problem, exactly. Our drivers are lucky to obtain the vehicle make and three numbers of the plate let alone all the numbers/vehicle model/number of passengers and a description of driver etc.



I'd imagine they are having no luck tracking the violators and simply need more info. It's tough to do in 2. 6 seconds.

In Ct if the bus driver reports your plate number you get a ticket. Period. You must pay the fine.

I know 2 people that this happend to a few years ago.

Doesn't matter what the circumstances are... the bus drivers word is taken.
