Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Go pedal stuck, then clunk, now it presses too easy...

So a while back my acc. pedal was sticking in the mornings, then one day it stuck REAL bad, I pushed and it popped loose. But now it seems to press WAY to easy, but it doesn't stick any more. By too easy I mean I go over a bump and the truck accelerates cuz I can't keep my foot steady on the pedal... . What did I break? Any idea what to check?

Check the cable actuation under the black plastic cover near the VP-44, very easy to get to and remove.

Have your wife or a buddy press the go pedal while you watch the cable's range of motion and check for anything broken.

Also check the tab where the cable goes through the firewall, had it pop lose once.
