I dont know if anybody has seen these yet. What it is, is a mini nerf bar that slides into your reciever. What it does is give you a rear step, but even better, it gives the person tailgating you something to crash into that is more solid then you cheap bumper. It looks really nice. It is available in Black, Chrome, or Polished Stainless. I got polished stainless to eliminate any chance of rust. It comes with a storage bag, hitch pin and a special clamp to keep it from rattling. It is super high quality and looks great. Just wanted to share the idea with others. It really dressess up the ugly hitch. www.gorhino.com I bought mine local for like $135. 00 i think. #ad

I always just leave the towbar with my 1 7/8 ball hangin' out the back.

You'd be amazed at the damage it will do to a jap car's front end when they tag you in the rear:eek:

Also keeps the scratches off the bumper when "feeling" for the wall while backing. ;)

My pintle hook/ball combo really did a job on the hood of a VW beetle that tried to go under me. Poor girl it was her boy friend's car. Not a scratch on me!

I had kept a 2" ball in there for just that reason, so if some moron rear ends me the hitch will take the damage (Or give it). But after walking by the ball hitch and smashing my leg into it enough times, not to mention it does not look very nice i went with the hitch step.

Thanks for the idea, EMDDIESEL. Just ordered one.

Should work great trying to climb up into my camper without the trailer hooked up.

(it's a looong way up there)

$135 is a good price for the Polished Stainless, I looked around and they want about $190  for it. Love to know of a place that (web) sells it for about $135.

I have a friend at the local auto parts store here. Let me confirm the price (It was like $145. 00 at the most) and if you want one, ill buy it locally and ship it you (I am guessing shipping would be about 10 bucks). Ill find out tommorow and post it here if anybody else wants one.

Automotive "can opener"

You're right, that hitch hanging down all the time sure doesn't look good..... but it sure makes a great can opener for the hood of the car that is following way too close for his own good :p

.....wait a minute here

I don't know about that...

I had my Reese Titan V hitch and both ball mounts powder coated gloss black to match my black Sport. It looks really sweet!

... ... however, I did smack myself on the head (lightly, fortunately) with the ball mount, ball nut. Ouch! You'd be surprised how people no longer encroach my rear in parking lots. :D

BTW EMDDIESEL, nice hitch step! :)
