Wow, I've been wearing out the dodge website, "inventory search" looking at whats left for '05's with manuals. Now I see why there are virtually no manuals in the east, they are all in the West!! Must be you can't ship a truck with a manual east of the Mississippi... :-laf

Tons of G56's and quite a few NV's left out there; the problem is that the cream of the crops are sold, the ones left don't have the premium options :(

When I was looking for a new 2005 3500 6 speed (NV5600 at the time) the middle of January, the local dodge dealer here in Tacoma Washington had exactly "ONE" truck. I don't think they are as plentiful in the West as you think... At least not where I live... . Try Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg Idaho... They have a pretty large inventory... ;)

Between last night and tonight, I think I've found at least 75 or so G56's and probably 15-20 NV's in the bigger city areas that I could think of offhand out west. I've searched hard in NY, 1 NV (which I've driven) and 1 G56 is all that I could find statewide

The NV's with any options are pretty scarce, thanks for the tip, I'll check the dealer out that you recommended.

Do tell Sir, I found an Atlantic Blue Laramie in Idaho last night that has me interested. Does anyone know how these car transportation services work?? Not sure its economical to take a week off from work, plus airfare and fuel etc to go get a truck :-laf

Get your dealer to do the trade, split shipping with you. When I got mine (late June) they searched as far as Phoenix to find one. Actually got one closer, but the dealer told me up front he would go as far out as I wanted if I split the shipping cost with him. There were a bunch in CO. I'm in KC.

Don't know what it would cost to have it shipped to NY, but driving it back would be a lot more fun.

1. Dave Smith used to advertise that they would pay for your plane fare to pick up the truck.

2. You get to see a lot of the US out your window.

3. Your CTD would have a real good start with its break-in period.

4. You would be doing something you could have fun at rather then just going to work... :D

If you tel us more about what you HAVE to have and what you would LIKE to have, we can look around. For example, in the Albuquerque area, there are a lot of lightly optioned Rams. In Las Vegas (I am there about half time), most are fully optioned.

For my personal truck, I got the SLT package, but it still didn't save any money because the rest of the options I wanted were aftermarket, and made the Laramie option seem cheap by comparison.

I know my next truck will be from Tomeygun in Missouri. I'm looking forward to the cross-country drive in my new Mega Cab. Too bad I gotta wait a year or two to buy it. Hopefully the 68RE (or whatever it's called) will be out by then.

6 speeds

I just bought my 6-speed from Reno Dodge last Saturday. They had four 2005's w/6-speeds and six 2006's w/6-speeds. I know Carson City has quite a few as well.
