i was pretty set on using goerend for my trans build form all the great feedback they have, now when I'm ready to pull trigger they are no longer doing full builds. only selling parts.. that sucks.... now i have to come up with a plan b. whats everyone else doing?

Find a local builder that will work with Goerend. You buy the kit or parts you want and the local guy puts it together. Goerend is usually prettty good about tech help when you buy stuff from them.

Seems that things are changing. DTT no longer has a shop that you can go to! They claim they will still build a transmission but are difficult to contact. DTT is just to interested in racing their car to deal with people anymore from what I can determine.

Be interesting to learn the history on Goerend's change!

Just DON'T go DTT. Shop or no shop, they SUCK !

Finding a local builder like Cerb says is the best thing you can do. You'll have to really do your homework if you don't already know one and find somebody that is competent and honest but it will be well worth your time. Having somebody that you can take your truck to in the event you have any problems after the rebuild is priceless compared to buying a reman unit from BFE and then being on your own.

For anybody who is in the general vicinity of northeast Ohio I can put you in touch with an excellent transmission buiilder. Dean is very honest and has been building high horsepower transmissions for 25 years.
