Just hit 12000 miles on my GB transmission, problem free. Just like a previous poster stated, Dave and I spent many hours on my cordless phone out in my drive way troubleshooting my old transmission, and getting lessons on how they work. Way more information than I could ever soak in.

This transmission's warranty will far outlast the body on my old 95

Just a note about Daves 3 disc converter. It works well for me and I pull 10,000 or so 5 th wheel. I am not going to say how it works as others know a lot more, I have pulled about 5000 miles so far with it and it is everything I thought it would be. But the main reason I bought it from Dave is because I know him and he has always been their to answer any questions for me. Is it better than any body elses? I don't know , I would think that anybody making the same product would have the same performance. The thing about Dave is he makes his living rebuilding automatic transmissions. And that means all of them not just one of them. As far as I know I think Adam {big yellow Iron } has it covered. I personally think all products are fine if you like them. And just for your information I also have a DTT valve body that I had before the converter. I have also sent my friends up to Daves and had their transmissions done. Yeah I would go back , But not until it warms up in May. Lacy

Sir can you go to 3 gear and lock up at 1550 or 1600? What about 4 gear and 1550 or 1600? I dont like to tow at 1750 in lockup in 4 gear when towing a heavy load with 3. 54 gears? I like to run at 62 or 63 miles an hour when pulling my backhoe. I dont have egt problems, just a problem paying 4k for a 3 speed transmission when towing. I live in a rural area and the speed limit is not 70 miles an hour. Now I have to manual shift the transmission an rev the engine to 2750 or so to keep the rpms high enough to not drop below 1750 or so when I make the next gear. thanks for any info Jim

good to hear from ya

Hey Hummin, I hadn't heard anything on here from you in quite a while, I was not sure if you were still around. I got the GB transmission finally and I love it. Thanks for all the pm's, Dave was great. He explained everything as he went, and I plan on hauling around with this transmission for quite a while. :D

Jimk, as for 4k, you should call Dave, and talk to him about what you use your truck for, and he can set you up. I do not tow anything as heavy as a backhoe. But I am pretty sure Dave can make it do just about anything you want.

P. S. H. C. I still got my pit bull. If you remember that joke.

I did today and the transmission will do what I wont. The list is narrowing. I have talked to Dave before about a special stator( not milled) and multiple clutches, in the converter, but I did not ask him until today about the 1550 lockup. I just wont it to hold. With a 100k warranty and no time limits that is all I require. I love a standard, but this is getting close. Jim

Just wanted to add that I too think Dave Goerend is a heckuva nice guy. I talked to him several times via phone and he was always willing to answer my questions. I didnt end up getting his transmission but am sure had I gotten his I would have been pleased too. Power to Dave!!

Those of you wanting the newest and greatest out there need to call Dave. He's really on top. Super great guy too. Anyway, this new converter he has is for the 450 hp and above crowd. Spool-up is great and tightness and torque mulitiplication is unreal. Defying the laws of physics. He really put alot a time into this new converter.

Saw some questions to shifting locked, all I have to say is it kicks a$$!!! Get a commander or some type of lockup controller, shifting locked is the way to go and hold power IMO.

after reading this and many other posts I feel good with my choice to go with dave on a complete trans how can you beat a lifetime convertor warranty and 100,000 mile trans warranty especially when you tell him exactly what you plan to do with it

August, 2001, I had Dave in install his milled stator TC and VB mods. I now have 55,000 trouble free miles with his upgrades. The transmission itself has over 128K trouble free miles and is stock except for the above mods. Dave opened it up and did a general condition check while doing the mods. At least 80% of the mod miles have been pulling a 29' Alpenlite 5er or hauling 11' campers weighing approx. 3500 pounds.

I second what others have said about Dave and his product.
