SPS62 Oil leak

need AMP plug

Dave asked if I was going to add power to my truck. (It's stock 180 h. p. ) I told him I would probably do the TST 230 h. p. first, maybe up to 300 in the future, that would probably be it. The pressure is pretty high on the transmission, which is what I need for big power. The transmission is very jerky Dave said come on back if you want to lower the pressure. I need some opinions on what to do. I would like it to shift a little smoother, would I be giving up to much in performance? I thought with a three disc TC you could get by with stock pressures. I am afraid I just don't know what I am doing, but I do know I have a heck of a transmission now! I am just curious what you guys have discovered.

You might want to try a controller like ATS's commander--it lets you adjust those sort of things right from the drivers seat!!

Go back to Dave, my transmission is set up for 500 hp and its not jerky. Let him fix it. He will test drive it, give you advice and make it right.

I will probably go back to Daves, He already told me that the transmission was pretty tight for stock h. p. , and come on back if it is to jerky for you and we will put a different V. B. in. He is great to deal with!

Dave will fix it. One other eason to raise the pressure is to keep the clutches in the trans from slipping.

Before you get the truck all set up for stock HP, you might want to start with the HP improvements. Talk to Dave about it and see what he thinks.

Oh, by the way, that "maybe up to 300 in the future, that would probably be it" is a good one! :-laf You're about to take the first step on a very slippery slope! Hang on...

That is where I thought I'd stop at myself. Past that now. Still want more. :-laf

As mentioned before, I would do the power upgrades you told Dave you were going to do. Then, see how it acts.

How is your driving style? Agressive or somewhat easy on the go pedal? It does make a difference. The PCM "learns" how you drive. The harder you drive, the firmer the shifts. The easier you are, the softer the shifts. If I drive easy, it shifts pretty easy, but firm, or if I drive hard, it'll put you back in the seat. :D

I don't know if I'm getting use to the trans. or if it is just getting broke in, It does not seem as jerky now, I think I am going to leave it alone. , add some gauges and some power and go from there. I am definitely getting power to the ground now! Just for fun, I called my local Dodge dealer to see what a rebuilt trans. from them woul cost. 2650. 00 for the trans. 450. 00-500. 00 for installation. That's only a couple hundred less than what I paid for a real trans. set up. Thank god for the TDR , cause know one around here knows anything about CTD. Think of the poor slobs spending that much money and ending up with the same crappy set up they started with. Oh I forgot to mention the warranty (Dodge dealer) 3yrs. -36,000 miles.

Yep. You are right about that.

My stocker was so loose, I gained 10# of boost with just the transmission swap. :D Can actually load the engine now. Oo.

Nope, I have not upped the power yet. I need to install some gages first. I hope to shortly, but I have a few honeydo projects first especially after the amount of $ I just spent.
