I just placed my order for a torque converter, valve body and some lever and strap thingy. I had a very hard time deciding what to do on ordering. weather to order a full transmission and just slap it in or what. He suggested those parts and not the full transmission for what I have listed in my profile. So I took his advice and ordered what he said to order and thats it.

As for when I called ats I was told I needed the stage 4 thats like 5700 dollars. More than double what Dave said I needed. Its sad there are not more people that are honest in this world like Dave.

Now I just hope I can install it all myself.

Do have 1 question for you guys with the goerend... . Can I add the ATS controller for lockups still? Or would that just be a waste of money?

I have a controller on mine, no problem.

i know that if i dont get a call this week they will loose some of my bussiness, i have customers who want that warranty and there transmission. if i dident call people back in a weeks time after getting 3 or 4 messages no one would buy from me

I actually got dave on the phone the first time I called then I called back to talk more to him and had to leave a message. He returned my call but it took two days and had all the notes from everything we already spoke about.

Im sure you'll get a call back, something must've came up for Dave not to call back. Your customers deserve a transmission from Dave so dont give up yet. ;) :D

Also..... just from this thread alone---IMAGINE THE NUMBER OF PHONE CALLS HE IS GETTING NOW!! :-laf

Probably my fault

He is probably really swamped right now with initial calls from folks who saw this post, perhaps. I just got all the stuff he shipped including 5 cds with . mov files that he recorded for demonstrating all the mods I am about to do. Very helpful. In case I need him for tech assistance, maybe I should start a negative rumor to give him a breather. Ha!

I am thinking of upgrading the trans on my 04. 5 and am torn about who to go through. I'm guessing it would be more worthwhile to do the whole trans instead of bits and pieces of it. How is Dave's pricing compared to ATS or Suncoast?

When I was pricing transmission's I called ATS, Dave, A few DTT dealers, and HTS. One of the DTT dealers was a little cheaper but I paid a little more and went with HTS. I made the 13 hour drive and it was well worth it. They are all similiar in price except ATS. They were alot higher.

DO WHAT?  ^^^^ Daves trannies are THE most inexpensive on the market, period. I did some extensive researching on the prices of all the big companies' trannies b-4 I bought mine and Daves was anywhere from $1000 to $2000 cheaper than EVERYONE elses trannies. I paid $3877 for mine , shipping from and to Iowa to VA, with NO core charge to boot, with 3d billet (PATENTED spell check<) convertor, billet input, Daves VB, his secret tricks for better oiling on the shafts, clutches, better planetairys, etc. list goes on.

I am not trying to start a war here, just stating things I observed when I was in the market for a bombed transmission. I am, and proably always will be, on a tight budget so the cheapest transmission with the BEST warranty program hands down, I figured I couldnt go wrong. BTW if it wasnt for TDR I probably wouldnt of even known about GOEREND BROS. and wouldve sold the truck and got a stick shift cause 6k is, IMO, way too much for a transmission. :D

I am just trying to help out guys here like I was helped out when I needed a transmission. ;)

Here is Daves transmission in action

This is under FULL t/c lock-up, adn shifting from 1st to 2nd(I may be @ about 400 rwhp??).

On a happier note, Goerned has been a sponsor of the TDR for many years. Glad they are around to help all of the members out. :)

Thank you.

I'm not trying to start a war at all. And yes I did my research as well. When your a teenager you don't really have tons of $$ floating around unless you have a daddy that gives it to ya... I called and got a quote on a full billet transmission installed and they were all damn near the same except ATS was well over $1,000 more. I still have the paper at home with all of the quotes on it.

BTW, Full t/c lock-up and shifting from 1st to 2nd is no biggie... Why don't you let it shift out of 2nd for more ground speed?

I agree $6K is way to much for a transmission. . But I didn't want to settle for a $4,000 half built one and then have stock shafts break. It doesn't really matter what transmission you have they are all better than stock :D

I agree it can be frustraiting trying to do business when you don't get phone calls back. But I have said it once, and I will say it again, Dave is a man of his word, when he says he*** will do something, he will do it. You just need some faith every once and a while.

Now as for LUKEN... .

I did quite a bit of research as well. I found that when it was all said in done, I saved about $500 going with Daves full billit. I think the extra money was in the ATS Flex Plate. Dave is one of the cheapest, and one of the best. Trust me man, I hear you on the money issue. I'm 19, and my daddy don't pay for jack crap, so you can trust me when I tell you that I tried long and hard to find the best deal I could.
