I scored a thin 3:73 R&P on ebay for $100 shipped ... was a little dinged up because it wasent packed up well but I was able to clean it up to my liking ....
I found master install kits on amazon with Koyo bearings for $200 ... has shims, bolts, seal, nut, loctite, yellow grease and bearings ofcourse... 4.125 Im good with that ... does anyone know what spedo sensor drive gear I use with the 3:73 gears? are they color coded? .. when I put the 3:73s into my first gen I changed the gear for the spedo but that was 12 years ago and I dont remember about it :) any help would be greatly appreciated

It is a little simple math. 3.73 is 10% different. If your gear has 30 teeth you need one with 27.

What year is your truck? If you have the tone ring in the rear axle, you don't have to change anything. Just reuse the same one.

my truck has both the speed sensor for the spedo in the trans and the sensor in the rear axle for abs...
thanks for your help... i was over complicating it

i could be wrong here cause what i know is for first gens but, when i changed the gears in my truck i had to change the speed -o- meter drive adapter on the transfer case, no the actual drive gears the tone ring in the rear was for the ABS only. I found out the hard way when my speedo said 70 put the GPS said said 91
