Going Back to Alaska!!!

Just got the call tonight. Will be going back to Alaska. Being out of the state for 4 years is too long. Any TDR folks in Juneau?

I believe there are. Just wanted to say I wish I was going. Don't care in the least about fishing, but sure would like to spend the summer up there.

I would go to the interior if work permitted, but there isn't a Heck of a lot of coast in interior Alaska, and my job is very dependent on that. Can't afford to quit just yet and just go live in the right part of the state.



ANY part of Alaska is a hands down win over where I am... ... .

Skiff - I have to agree with ya, any part is better than none.

I don't think there would be a bad part in Alaska. Just think of the hunting opportunities!

The hunting opportunities have dramatically decreased here since the Federal take over of the wildlife management. The Alaska State Constitution disallows allocation of resources based on ethnic guidelines. Which is how it should be!!!

The Feds say the Natives are living the subsistence lifestyle and should get preference on the hunting opportunities. (BS!!!)

They are allowed to kill whales with speedboats, cannons and using GPS and satelight photos (Real traditional use huh!!!!)

They are allowed to kill polar bears without regard to seasons, bag limits, sows with cubs,etc. They ARE NOT killing them for food!!! A lot of the hides end up in the black market. The same for the walrus. The ivory is blackmarketed and the meat rots. !!!!

All of this goes on because the general public is ignorant of the facts and the Feds are motivated by justifying their own jobs, not what is right!!!!
