MCUMMINGS

you are to be commended for going into biz for yourself. Its the way to go my friend! Some good and interesting advice on business establishment here but I think your question at the beginning was only related to names, sounds like youve already done your research on the other stuff.

I like Laredo Performance Diesel! Go get em man! Let us know when your site is up or if you have a catalog.

Congrats!

Well guys,, Thanks for the support,, I've got a bit of stock all ready,, Gauges for 1st gen Rams, Late Model Fords, and Dodges,, even some Car "pods", I bought a 2-gauge A-Pillar pod for my Friend who has a Chevelle,, That should kick up his cool factor a notch or two,, :D

Well, I did it, I'm in business.

I haven't set out all my paperwork, but I'm payin' bills. I'm working pretty hard, with my Dad in the oilfield, and with this business,, I'm thinking about picking up another job doing some delivery of JB-80.

I really have to thank Doug at Advanced Diesel Technology for helping me get on my feet. Last I heard I was ADT's biggest dealer :D,, now Ain't that cool!

TxDieselKid has helped alot with the design of the website, and my advertising banners (They WERE on the www.DHRAonline.com site, but, apperantly all banners got removed for simple links) THANKS ANDREW!!

There are many more peaple that helped me start out,, even before I decided to start a company. Thanks.

I have a website, e-mail and cell phone.

I'm having a good time! Only problem I'm having here in South Texas, is, everybody wants me to go and fix thier Mercedes Turbo Diesel, or What's wrong with my tractor? and the never ending, I want 200 more HP but I want to keep my warrenty.

I need to get a credit card machine, best I've found was an $800 machine that does all credit cards and checks, and had a very competitive % rate and low transaction fees.

I have business cards, and I've put some stickers on my truck advertising my company name, phone number, and e-mail address.

Thanks for the advice yall gave me. I've talked a few people, but I have madeplans to go and talk to a lawyer/financial advisor (oxymoron:( ?) to help me plan my biz out better.

Again,

Thanks Everyone!!

Once again, Congrats are in order for your decisions and actions Mcummings.

On the credit card machine, I think there are several websites that allow you to process Credit Cards thru the web for some minimal transaction fees. The rates may be slightly higher but as you build your business and until your cash flow is smooth it may be a way to take care of business with minimal capital expenditures. Have to see if the net profits are good enough from the products you sell can justify the higher process rates.

Congrats again my friend!! Best of luck!!

Merrick,

Stick to your guns partner! Doing that thing you asked for last night with your web site now! :D

Don't give it up man! Let me know if you need anything! ;)

ON EDIT: well never mind, it's already done, i'll just put something you forgot!!! #@$%! :-laf

Merrick, Check with your bank on the Credit Card machine. I rented mine for 2 years with payment going towards purchase. This was back in 93 and it was 18. 50 per month. Their trans. rate was very reasonable also. With using the bank's machine, if anything goes wrong just take it back. The machines back in 93-94 were changing almost monthly, so by now they should be about thru their evolution and pretty much as fast and gadget loaded as possible. You should be able to use it for several years before needing a new one.

Congrats on the business, keep up the good work... . :D
