SRT-10 Dodge to release with 3x 500 Viper motor

Checked out a new VW Jetta TDI- Nice!

Galveston to South Padre is 437 miles one way. It is going to take you a day to get there, and the drive between Houston and Corpus is a VERY boring drive. The rest of the way isnt much better.

Oh, yeah!

Riviera and Sarita never looked so good! Put 'er on AutoSnooze 'til you get to Raymondville!

During my flight training in 1971, I left NAS Corpus in a Cessna 150 heading for Harlingen with a 40 kt headwind. The cars on US 77 were passing me! :(

At least on the way back from Harlingen you get some excitement going through the border patrol checkpoint in Sarita :D

Made it.

Well, we're here. Made it from Wisconsin to Galveston in 22 Hours. I have two words for anyone in Houston. MASS TRANSIT!!! Have you guys ever heard of it? Man the traffic sucked. Who's the genius who conceived that plate of transportation spaghetti?

But after that we made it. We went to IHOP toady and then took a shower and went to bed. Too tired to do much of anything else.

If some of you want to get together, we'll be here until the 18th. Give us a call, (608)304-0399. I think it's cool the number of diesel trucks I've seen so far. Can't throw a rock (softly) without hitting one. Very cool. I'll keep checking off and on for more ideas from you guys.

Oh BTW, diving is out of the question. We lost all of my wife's dive gear on I-90 somewhere between LaCrosse and Rochester. What a bummer for our trip. Oh well. C'est la vie.

Answer: a University of Texas graduate. Want proof? Try to go east to west or vice versa in Austin- it's much worse than Houston ever thought of being! Sorry about the dive gear- maybe someone has some they might lend to y'all.

I've got to work all weekend- maybe some of the others can meet you. I'll post a notice on the LSTDR.

Hope y'all enjoy your visit!

Right on!

All of us wanted to say thanks to you guys that recommended Pappadeaux's. That was right on the money. Excellent food and great atmosphere. I had the snapper, the wife had the soft-shelled crab. And let me tell you, it was the best.

We also went to the Haak winery today and tasted some wine. That was fun too. Now we can add another winery to the short list of those that we visited. Tomorrow is golf, Moody Gardens and some good barbeque. We'll keep you posted. Keep the good ideas coming. Thanks!
