I have posted on this many times before and thanks to all that responded. I have an air conditioner problem. The passenger side will not stay at a constant temperature. The truck is a 2004 SLT with out dual zone controls. I have had nine attempts in one year to fix it. I have even had a meeting with the district service manager on the last attempt. The last repair was replacing the evaporator and fin temp sensor. Other repairs have been done but all that was done was rechecking and testing. I got a call from my dealer on Friday 7-29 and thay said they dont have anything else they can do to fix it. I have had blend doors replaced twice, freon checked and charged to the correct level and the final attempt as stated above. I have called other dealers but they all tell me the same thing. The diesel trucks with the regular controls all have this same problem but the dual zone controls do not. I have filed arbitration papers yesterday. I also went on the consumer affiars web sight here in Georgia and filed under the lemon law. I dont want to replace the truck, I just want the issue fixed. Can anyone shed some new light on this subject? Thanks in advance--- Chuck

Well that stinks. Can you explain a little more what you mean by "the passenger side will not stay at a constant temperature"? You mean it keeps blowing hot/cold/hot/cold?

Read TDR and Diesel Resource. TONS of posts POPPING UP FROM ALL OVER the USA about the same deal my truck included. Low charge, bad fin temp sensor and relocation of it,blend door problem(I don't think so at least not most of the trucks). I told the service manager at the dealer near me LAST year that I bet THIS year that little problem would raise ts head as the trucks got a year older and the outside temps went up!

I had a/c problems since my truck turned 1,000 miles and have experienced the hot and cold symptoms but not just the passenger side. It ended up being the hvac control unit and two were installed by the dealer under warranty before the problem was resolved. The first hvac fixed my problem but after a few days of driving it was doing the hot cold thing again. After a second hvac was installed I have not experienced any more ac problems .

Mine does it. I never realized until I read your prior post. Then I reached over there to the right and sure enough the vent was not as cool as the two in front of me. That is so odd! The right side does cool, just not as cool as the left. If the A/C is on for a long time (30 min or more) I can't tell the difference at that point.

Doesn't bother me as much because I usually drive alone. It's funny what bothers some people and not others. I have a driveline slack problem and it makes me crazy. Everyone who's heard it isn't impressed and thinks it's not that bad. But it makes ME nuts. SO I 100% sympathize.

Good luck with your arbitration!
