A very interesting Message Board...with some idiots posting...

A few months ago I put a Forged dish piston 9:1 360 shortblock in my car until the parts to build my good 340 come in. For $300 this short block has surprised me with a 12. 68 at best. Well I have gotten bored with that and I am going to use a Adjustable Plate system from NOS on it this weekend. I don't know a whole lot about Nitrous so I thought I would take any suggestions that any of you gearheads may have. The drivetrain is ready I had an Anti Ballooning Plate put in the Converter when I broke the snout off of it 2 years ago($565 to fix a Turbo Action converter BTW).

I guess My main concern is Traction . With ET streets I have pulled off a zero spin 60ft of 1. 71 sofar. Adding an Instant 150HP off the line will either pick the wheels up or blow the tires off one. Anyways I will post how fast it goes or how many parts I bring home lol

On a $300 motor, come on ;). Actualy I don't see 150hp shot being any problem, especialy with the low compresion I have right now. If it holds up good for awhile I will turn it up to maybe 250. But on a 26x10. 5 ET Street and a 8" 3800 converter I think traction will be a problem.

If I get everything Installed today, including my simpson belts that have been collecting dust since I got my Cage I will post results tonight.

Lame

Car went an 11. 80@111. Only . 18 faster than my pump gas daily driver 340 did lol. The track was slick and traction was horrible and it runs out of gear on top of that. But it held up great never popped sputtered or anything. I have honestly gotten my $300 worth out of this shortblock now. 250 shot hear I come

Spray

One more MPH and you'll be as fast as my truck!:)

Regarding the Nos, if traction gets to difficult, maybe you could stage it???

11s?

Nowel get the red rocket into the 11s??? Or were you just speaking MPH?? The MPH sucks on this motor because it does not like to turn over 6100rpm no matter what.

I have the juice on a throttle switch so kicking it in later is kinda hard. My arm switch is in decent reach maybe I can leave and them flip it. I just checked and I still have 950PSI in the bottle so it should have one or two more runs in it. Back to the Track on Tuesday :)

Dude, my poor engine only goes to 3200!:)

There are some neat things you can do with the Nos. Add a timer to delay the solenoid 1/1. 5 seconds. Or stage it.

BTW, my 112 to your 111. I am working on traction at the moment. We need some rear suspension work before elevens are possible. That and I need some slicks.

Yeah I know you can't crank more than 3200. I was saying I could have ALOT more MPH I just run right outa gear about 150ft from the end I have to let off. I am not going to spend any money changing gears on this cheapass motor.

As far as your rear suspension goes have you ever looked into Caltracs?? I know they make them for the 1/2 ton rams. But I am pretty shure they can/will make them for everything. Check them out at Calvert Racing I believe they are located in CA also. Have you raced that thing with the Automatic yet??

Still not much better. Track was slick enough on one pass when I shifted 2nd the tach didn't move! I did better it a little with a 11. 76@114 though. There is a Mopar Bracket race on Sunday, its going to suck racing it off the bottle again lol.
