Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Going to look at 2002 3500 ETH/DEE 4x4 Saturday... anything special to look for??

Well, Its about time I leave the regular valved crowd, and come over here. I found a sweet truck, and I am going to go see what I can do in terms of $$ with the dealership. My question is, when I go to look at this truck, is there anything in particular I need to check for? I know to check for fuel pressure, and all that bit, but if y'all could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it!

Make sure the pump wire was'nt tapped, maybe a carfax report?

HMMmmm - your OLD truck looks pretty capable...



BUT, take a good tour underneath - occasional leakage at transmission/differential seals, transfer cases too - trannies shift hard for some trucks - watch for grinding on shifts, especially going into 3rd... Other than that, pretty much all the usual checks apply...
