So... I'm driving down the road minding my own business when I see "Goliath" It was sitting behind a repair shop minus the 5-speed trans. The shop forman (who knew zilch about Cummins motors) said he quoted the owners $10K to find and install another trans and they fainted. He said they were going to tow it home and probably sell it but he advised me not to buy it cause it had over 130,000 miles on it and the engine was probably worn out too. I smiled sadly at him (and bit my tongue..... hard!) and agreed. (But I got their name & number anyway. ) Anybody had any experience with these "stretched" 1st-gens??? The only thing I hate about my '90 is the "standard-cab"... with this baby I could fit my family, the in-laws, out-laws, horses, hitch-hikers... . It's like a living-room in there!

Buddy of mine had one............

Art Pacheco, Six-Pack Performance, Albuquerque, NM (505)-345-8539. I don't remember him having any problems with his, but you could call him to pick his brain. Really nice guy, most of the time (on pain pills for his bad back, some days are better than others). Otherwise, I've seen several Chevies that cracked in the roof where they were joined together. Cool Find, let us know how it turns out.

I have a 1992 that was a club cab and the crew cab section added. I t has over 185,000 miles on it and never had a problem. I just have to plan ahead if i get in a tight place because it takes 40 acres to turn it around.
