Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Help with Mods Please!!

Just delivered the pickup to Mikes custom trucks today to get a goodie package installed. In the transmission will be going a BD torque converter, valvebody and pressurelock. On the engine will be going a BD super B single and 90HP sticks. and also getting a FASS 95gph stand alone Fuel transfer pump. Would have installed all this myself but being a diesel tech for a living, working on my own stuff not what I always want to do on my days off. I will post dyno results when I pick it up next wednesday. were guessing it to be 300+HP and 700+ lbft of torque. We'll see. dyno results 2 weeks ago with just an EZ, 4in exh. and K&N filter were 239HP and 519lbft torque.



I'M TOO EXCITED TO SLEEP Oo.



Anyone else want to guess what the #'s will be.
 
Sound good bill. I bet you are to excited to sleep. How many over time shifts did you have to work for all that. I wish I had the money right now to have mike to my trany.

Guess this means I won't be able to hire you to help on my eng. bombs then , huh!. Oh well, maybe Adam & I can get a ride in your truck to feel some real power, when yours is up & runnin. Hope all goes well.

BTW, when you are there, ask Mike how much to R&R injectors on Adams 99 , OK. Later. :)
 
Here are the new dyno #'s with all new Bombs installed only thing different than original post is 150gph FASS instead of 95gph same price.



319. 11 HP and 629. 22 torque this is with EZ in Mid range. Hopefully will have a new Edge Race pro comp in a couple of weeks. the EZ alone doesn't do this combo any justice. Can't believe the difference in the trans way tighter and very good snappy shifts. Can only get 28-29 lbs boost WOT with the EZ needs more fuel I guess hopefully the new comp will geter done.

Billet shafts??? can you explain. not sure what you mean.



comp box brand new in box for $300 thats why and I have a buyer for my EZ for $250.

The smarty is 65hp? and it gets rid of tq management? Will it keep fueling past 2700rpm??? To what rpm will it fuel @ 100%?





BILLVO, I am talking about billet input and output shafts.



A Comp box and 90 hp injectors will be pushing the stock shafts to the limit :(

If the input breaks, there is a VERY good chance it will also take out your converter $$$$$$$.

DT, on my otherwise stock ETC the Smarty fuels out to 3500rpm.

No billet shafts thought about it had internals inspected all was good I don't intend to do any racing or competing just to play with :D Yeah right!!!! just an ocassional truck pull and daily trailer tugging. We'll see how it goes.
 
A question for some input. Before all recents mods stock HY35 exh temp never got over 1100 under severe hard pull and 26 psi boost with EZ and J-hook. now under light throttle with torque conv locked up between 45-70 mph,exh temp aruond 1200-1250 consistant temp and low boost (5-15)normal driving no trailer. Seems very high to me seems like trans shifts to OD to soon and is lugging engine and will not down shift unless more go pedal is applied. Max boost now only 28-29 psi WOT this also seems low from a turbo that should produce 40 psi easy. Is this due to lack of fueling would a comp help this.

Can someone give some input to this (Normal or not)?
 
I ran 14. 9 on an HY-35, EGTs around 1400, boost about 34psi...



You should look into a turbo swap :)

I found my HY to be holding my truck WAYYYYYY back on the top end :rolleyes:

I am now runnin' a HX-35 with 21cm exh housing. Laggy pig, but it screams up top.
