I have a friend who told me that he was using weiners (cut into small pieces) for trotline bait and catching good numbers of catfish. (Rayburn lake, southeast Tex. ) He said that the cheap weiners seem to work best, said he soaks them in automatic transmission fluid before using, I asked what type ATF he used and he said Mercon, I told him to try +4, might get better hookup. I love to fish but usually stop in early summer till the next spring. bg
