The passenger side battery is getting moved back on the fenderwell to make room for the BHAF & air ducting.

Anyone moved the battery & have any hints on parts, etc?

thanks

First take all you battery and air filter stuff completly out to allow plenty of room.

The oem battery holder has a big leg for support, cut it off and there are alot of support ribs on the under side, grind them off till all of them are about 1/4" high. place the remodeled holder on the fender well and drill a couple holes thru for mounting, also one side bolt will lineup to one of your fender bolts but the battery holder sits a little lower so you will need to cut the top out of the hole and then use a washer on the bolt.

You will need to re route your ground cable on the other side of your compressor discharge and you will need to extend your possitive cable no biggie, there are also a few small wire to reroute too.

You will need a different filter intake hose , the one I am using is from a 86 furd flowersmoke but dont tell anyone.

cheers Kevin

Thanks Got Smoke & Kevin.

Just ck'd our your pictures ... yep, I remember them from the post on the cool air plumbing. That's the format I want to work at.

I'd like to try the RE-0880 again, perhaps behind a shield up there. It's way too noisy where the BHAF is laying now, but maybe not noticeable up there.

Thanks again.

Oh ... Kevin ... I see you've got the red tops. Are they equivalent height to the stock battery?

I did put the red tops in because I thought I needed the extra clearence to the hood but after all said and done the oem batteries will fit with this setup! :)

cheers, Kevin

Just starting the process of moving things & ran across something interesting. I removed the battery & holder & ran back to town for some hardware. Temps @ the documented hills are 25 to 50 degrees higher.

BHAF & heat shield are still in place, just minus the battery & holder! I was thinking that perhaps the battery would be blocking all of those openings up front & would see a slight decline in temps ... but noooooo.

Hey Kevin, can you pls measure the length of the intake hose from the turbo to the BHAF?

They are out of production on the 86 parts. Napa has 2 sizes, need to make sure.

Thanks,

Forrest
