Hey all,

I am looking for a good alignment shop in Houston to get my truck aligned. I want to use the specs that I found on this site. Does anyone have any suggestions?

thanks,

Brandon

I've used Cotton Bros off of Navigation. They are old school (their equipment isn't electronic) but they get results. I've been very happy with how my truck drives after they aligned it.

Thanks Duane. They are right there off the highway (HW288) aren't they?

Yep, they sure are. However, I'd check on Mike's suggestion above first...

Stay away from Firestone and/or anywhere else that will not align to your specifications, if you have any that are different than Dodge's. I'm not sure if your truck is a 2wd or 4wd, but I have found these specs to work well on my 4x4:

I went to Strouhall's off of 288. They were very frindly and professional. I even brought the specs I found on here. They even agreed to give me a before and after printout of the alignment. After they hooked up the equipment they found it to be very very close to what I gave them. They unhooked the equipment and didn't charge me a dime, This still doesn't explain why my truck pulls to the right and eats up the passenger side tire every 15k miles. The tech there checked for loose parts and after looking at the printout, he thought the truck should have a slight pull to the left. I am thinking of all new ball joint and front end parts then returning to either this place or another that will agree up front not to stop until it drives straight.

I agree that ball joints may be the issue. I had the same problem when I first got my truck... eating the passenger side front tire.

Had the ball joints replaced and the wear slowed considerably, but it's still there. I went to Firestone and a brake place (can't remember the name... Brake Check or Brake Stop) and neither would align to the specs I posted earlier. They both said they'd only set to mfgr specs

I ended up going with a little place in Missouri City, but I don't recommend them. It was too much hassle. However, I have very little pull anymore. What pull I do have, I attribute to the combination of 295/75's, Houston roads, and crosswinds.

I have a mechanic friend of mine that has recommended a place off of Airport Blvd. called Alignment & Brake Specialists. I plan on trying them out Friday. I'll let you know how they work out. If they don't work out I will run over to Strouhall's.

There is no way I would go anywhere except Montalbano Tires on Fondron at Westpark. I've been using them since I could drive, and trust them without ever thinking about it. They have been good to me in return for using them over the years. The store managers name is John, and is a great guy to deal with any time I need anything tire/brakes/shock related. They do other things as well. :)

I highly suggest them to anyone on the SouthWest side of town.

Hey Curtis,

Good to see there's still a topic you can post on since you got that gasser! :p :D

Alignment & Brake Specialists

Hey guys,

Took my truck in to have it aligned to the spec from this board and man what a difference. The guys at Alignment & Brake Specialists off of Airport and I45 know their stuff! I would highly recommend them to anyone. Super nice guys to work with and they have a long history of setting up racecars and specialty vehicles (airbags, monster lift kits..... ) these guys can align anything with wheels. They are in the phone book but you will not be able to find them just driving by. They only have a little sign above the door that sayes "alignments". All of the business is word of mouth. That says a lot. They were completely slammed the day was there and Phil said that this was the norm.

If you are in the Houston area and need a alignment shop this one rocks!
