Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Good Deal for a Power puck?

While I was searching the net for a B&M trans pan I found this.

Diablo power puck for $284. 00. Seems like a very good buy, but all my reading has been on the Edge EZ. I was saving for the Edge but would this be a better deal? JC

I have a Puck in my rig. I'd ask how old the unit is as well as how many miles are on the unit. I paid a little over $600 (I think it was something like $620) when I bought mine 6 months ago. The dealer advertisement has said power increases of 65hp & 200#'s torque. Secondly, the unit can be custom tuned by purchasing a package from the manufacturer. Basically you buy this package and it comes with the hardware and software for you computer to make your own custom power tunes. I've tried to contact DiabloSport a few times thru their website to get confirmation of this, as well as to ask about features of the unit that I'd like clarification on i. e. if there's an integrated boost fooler, whether the unit adds fuel only, advances the timing, or both, etc. So far my unit has been flawless in operation and power is very smooth. I would like to see better customer support from the manufacturer though.



If the miles are low and the unit is relatively new, I'd say go for it.

I tried their website and didn't really get much more info. The puck I found is brand new and they said they had 3 left for this price. JC

I don't know how they perform, but I noticed that the latest JCwitney truck cataloge has them for 469. 00. In that ad they said it changes timing and it had a boost connection also.

Thanks to the ones who had a repsonse on the power puck. I decided to buy it today. Went back to the website and the price had gone up to $306, but that looks like half price. Truckperformance.com still has 2 more listed for this price. JC

That's a heck of a deal. Glad to know that this thing apparently has a boost fooler to give a little more oomph. Course it looks like I may have gotten stiffed on the price.
