2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Good deal?

I found a 01. 5 slt short box HO 6speed 4x4 in white from a dealer in idaho. 45k miles on it They want 23995 for it. Well still a little high i think. It is stock and doesnt have the #53 block and has rear discs. Body is in good shape and it was a trade in for a bigger truck. Salesman said he would go down a little in price. i figure i could get him in to do the deal for 22,500. . Is that a good deal. What else should i look for?

I would check fuel pressure and for codes.

Does the cummins 100k miles engine warrenty cover the VP44 and the limp pump (lol) ? Also, in 01 was it a 5year or 7 year?

Yes, the Cummins 5 yr. 100,000 mile warranty does cover the VP and LP.



I'm not sure if the powertrain warranty in 2001 was 7 yr. 70,000 like it is for my 2002.



BTW, here at one of my local dealers, there is a Burgandy 2002 with; 6 - speed HO, Laramie with leather, long bed, tow mirrors, DVD system, perfect condition ( paint is at least ), and also has 45k miles. They are asking $30,000. It will probably sell for around that too. People love paying over blue book around here for diesels.
