I think they all need Cummins... . I see the need for Cummins in powerplants, welders, skidsteers, go-carts, garden tillers, lawn mowers, snow blowers, air compressors, tractors... . oh, wait, I have those... ... but Ford's trucks definitely need 'em... . As for a good clean CC... hmm, good luck. Most of those trucks get the snot beat out of them as they are work trucks, used on job sites, by people who hate their job, and usually dont' stay more than a few months. If you find one, the cab is usually hammered. But you could find a good frame, and source a good 1/2 ton cab and fix it up really nice..... I've got a really nice '77 frame, with an 86 cab and a '71 440 with 3/8" stroked SCAT crank parked out back in one of my sheds... .

Fuel prices have parked it, as well as the release of the AWESOME Cummins engine. I kept the Hammer going until '99 when I finally got a 91 Cummins CC I rotated into use... The ethanol in today's gas was so bad it would foul the plugs miserably in cold weather, and I had to add so much Sta-bil and octane booster, even to the Premium Gas, that is was way too high too keep it running every day..... Especially when the '89 would get 20+mpg empty... ...

But I do have a good 12v engine in the corner, with a good clutch and bell housing... ... .

I just need the time, and the Hammer will live again! Only this time, it's not the popping sound of open secondaries, but the spool of a turbo... . or two... .

Oo.
Someone called me the other day and had a clean 86 Chevy 4 door for sale..... not sure of the cost... .
