Majestic Turbo put new bearings in my HX-40 under warranty. When I got it back I noticed both the turbine wheel and compressor wheel had fairly bad housing rub. I figured I wouldn't bother putting it back on anyway. It was scrap in my eyes. It sat in the basement for 4 months. I figured what the hell. Put it on and try it. Swapping a turbo is easy enough.

After about a mile I noticed heavy blue smoke coming from the tailpipe when accelerating and the EGT's were hot.

Sure enough, It's leaking oil into turbine side of the turbo. It started to smoke once the exhaust housing got hot enough. Only an ounce or so of oil leaked.

At least it didn't dump oil on the compressor side. I'd be livid if it coated my intercooler with an oil mist.

Should have left the POS on the shelf. Hindsight is wonderful.

Nice Rebuild Majestic !

It really bothers me the most to see that the rebuild/special services aspect of this business has hit rock bottom. There are unskilled laborers doing rebuilds and "performance modifications" and things are blowing up and nobody is doing anything to help the customer! Suggestion to the powers that be: Pay a little money to the skilled guy that you threw out the door and you'll get some customers that will actually use your service again instead of destroying your name on the newest public playfied--the internet forum!

While the subject is up, does anyone know of a reliable company that can do similar modifications? I am happy with my Majestic (its still together at least, knock on wood), but it sure isn't going back there if it ever comes apart. I think I remember someone mentioning a place in the Carolina's, and MY6 who did your hybrid turbo?
