Sorry about that Kat, I was shooting from the hip on the tires, here is the link:

http://www.toyo.com/tires/index_frame.html

They are the 285/60/17 114V and the are right at 30" tall. I think they will be great for the 3. 55 rear. I paid $119 at Tire barn, and $160 for the Atlas polished rims. They are 17x10s they are not weight rated for daily driving at 2601lbs. I will only put them on at the track. So I have a lot of re-adjusting to do, I will try different air pressures, etc with them. After Saturday I will know how they do.

Dang it... I was hoping you had a secret size. With my 4. 10 ratio I have to watch the tire size on any choices... I can't really go smaller ... ... I must say I like the looks of those tires. Hope they work well for you..... anxiously waiting to hear how Saturday turns out... ... ... do you have anyone that can get a video of the runs?? I have yet to see your truck "in action".....

Good luck.

video

I have lots of video from last year on VHS. I got burned out on video taping by the middle of the season:) I don't have anyone to video tape for me this weekend. It'll just be me and JD, the pump god. I don't know anyone around here with a digital camera. :(

Yeah, with the race converter, today was the first day with lockup in OD. Lawrence and Bill worked out some new setup on the VB which did help the 3-4 shift, but it was still what I would consider late. By grounding the 3-4 shift solenoid with a momentary switch, I can override the computer and force the shift when I wanted it. That helped a bunch.

My best ET before was a 13. 63, with an average on that day of 13. 715; my best MPH was 98. 06, with an average of 96. 9

Today my best was 13. 27 with an average in the mid 13. 30's and the MPH were all in the high 102 to high 103mph range.

That's a solid . 4 drop in ET and a good 6mph increase!

wow, a . 4 drop and a 6 mph increase because you used lockup. what % is your tc?

Eric,

Man if you ran a 13. 54 with a 5 speed you are light years ahead of others here. Your auto should drop you into the 12's with ease.

You are making some HP with that Hot-Rod for sure.

Thats fast as ever for an auto much less a 5 speed.

We went from a 91% to a 93%, got the lockup, got the shift to occur when I wanted it to and dropped 350# out of the truck. All that got me the increases.

Thanks Don

Thanks for the kind words. I hardly think I am light years ahead. I pride myself on my racing skills, rather than how much work I've done on the truck. There are many unspoken for trucks out there that whip on me, I'd like to see them show up at the tracks though. The more we can get to compete, the more interest there will be by the tracks to have diesel drags! But I'll take the compliment like a gentleman, THANKS!
