last time I purchase drums for my 95 2500 they cost me about $75 each at the DC parts counter. A spring kit cost about $5. the wheel cylinders cost less than $15 each, and the shoes aren't that expensive. I can redo my rear brakes for far less than a conversion.

Napa rear brake shoes and drum prices:

Safety Stop Brake Pads/Shoes Brake Shoes - Rear, Safety Stop

RSSSS451 $ 48. 99 Core 26. 50

NAPA United Brake Shoes - Rear, AE

Usually ships in 24 hours. RBP

AE451R $ 81. 49 Core 26. 50

Tru-Stop Brake Pads/Shoes Brake Shoes - Rear, Tru-Stop

Usually ships in 24 hours. RTS

TS451 $ 42. 99 Core 26. 50

Tru-Stop Brake Drums Brake Drum - Rear BTS4401693 $ 47. 99

NAPA United Brake Drum - Rear

UBP6401693 $ 73. 49

These are for 2500. 3500 prices slightly higher, but hardly enough to justify the conversion to discs because of near equal prices. Save that BS for the wives :D.

Conversion kits available for 3/4 and 1 ton for about 850. 00 including e brakes cables. Installed on a 96 dually for a friend and took about 4 hrs total. Now has very good brakes and don't have to worry about adjusting.

I have the heavy duty front disc brakes from them and they are great. No more pulling. I am going to do the rear conversion in a few months. would have done sooner but had just replaced shoes, springs and adjusters. Also installed 3500 wheel cylinders. Still have to manually adj every few thousand miles so I am looking forward to installing the EGR setup on the back.

Friends rig was scheduled to be replaced but now he has decided to keep the 96 for another few years. Brakes on the newer rams was the reason, now that reason is gone, he loves the brakes and it stops as good as the 03s
