Going to have to put a new hydroboost in the 99. Its starting to leak some. I've been doing some reading here, and there's been a few people that have had some issues with the A-1 Cardone hydroboost. There are a few other options than the Cardone out there, but if I didn't have to source one elsewhere, I'd rather just get one at NAPA.

So... Has anyone had any personal experiences good or bad with the A-1 Cardone hydroboost?

Thanks

Craig

I put one on my '97 about a year ago to replace the leaking factory unit (not sure if the 97 is the same unit as yours or not). I haven't had any problem with it, Cardone's window regulators are another story...

Put an A1 Cardone on my 2001. 5 about 5000 miles ago--have had no problems --

O' Reilys-$185 lifetime--Like you-had some issues with A1

Cardone before with PS pump--I went to NAPA and was told that the use A1 Cardone and same one was $210--its a real easy install so I thought I would gamble--So far no problems-I pull a 12700 # 5th wheel works as good as it did when it was new 225700 miles ago. ---Mark

We haven't had any problems with the hydroboost units. PS pumps, steering gears, and R&P units are a crap shoot.

I replaced my hydro boost with a Cardone from O'Reillys and two weeks later it started leaking. They lived up to their lifetime warranty and replaced it no questions asked, so far the replacement is working properly. I have used A1 Cardone many times in the past with great results, the hydro boost unit was the first time I have had a problem.
