Good Price for 06 4wd Laramie minus Leather??

Howdy Guys!!



Am looking at leasing for 36 months, 20,000 miles per year the following:



2006 3500 CTD 6 speed srw long box slt with bighorn package so slip rearend 3. 73 ratio, basically a Laramie w/o leather seats.



Am trying to decipher what a good price is for a new pichup as described.



As far as the lease goes, dont want debt on my balance sheet, dont want to go past the 3 yr 36mile warranty, am happy paying for the use and turning it in.

I don't have an answer to your question but a question to your question. Why do you want to lease when there are so many good purchase deals around. According to a friend who is a leasing agent for a dealership, "leasing is for suckers who think that they are saving money when they are just putting money in the leasors pocket", his words not mine. It is difficult to make deals on leases and the payment is based in the MSRP which you would never pay when buying.

Sounds like you are going to pay quite a bit. A couple of things - leasing is essentially a "use fee". You say you're planning on 20,000 miles a year - that's paying for 60,000 miles over the course of your lease. You are paying by the mile (essentially) so your residual will be smaller. Because of that, you'll probably be paying nearly what you could buy it for (leasing is much better if you drive fewer miles - like 10k per year).



Secondly, you mention you don't want to go past the 3/36 warranty, but you will if you are going to do 20,000 miles/year for three years.



If I were you I would definitely look at buying, not leasing.

Pat, another thing thing to be aware of- a Big Horn is a long way from being a Laramie, leather or not. The Big Horn package really doesn't give you a whole lot while the Laramie gives you a pretty well loaded truck. If they're leading you to think a Big Horn is almost a Laramie, they're lying to ya!!!
