2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Schocks

A friend said a friend of his offered to sell him his 96 dodge cummins 2500 ext cab 4x4 just plain no power windows or locks for $3500. is this a good price? it does have an R title. but he says it runs good.

Why does it have a rebuilt title? What kind of damage was done. If it runs good, and there's no frame damage and it lines up good on an alignment machine, I would think it would be a great deal. How many miles?

If he bought it, found out that it wasn't what he wanted, he could sell the engine/transmission for $3500 & pocket the rest. If the body lines look good & the frame isn't twisted, I'd say go for it.

I forgot to mention it has 175,000 miles, im not really sure how bad it was hit, the guy that has it now had it for 7 years after the rebuild. he said he gets 20,000 miles out of a set of tires so it must be pretty straight. I told him it sounds like a good deal. he is selling it for what the dealer offered him for trade. If he doesn't buy it I might.

I would be lucky to get 20,000 out of my tires on my 2000 and the 95 I had was even less.

I had 57K on my original Goodyears on my 95 when I replaced the tires and they still had a good 7K left before they showed the thread wear bars. I only changed them out because we were going on a very long trip with the 11'-3" Lance camper.

Yah, with the 5speed, I'd buy it for that price. That's a smoking good deal for a 12v with only 175k and a rebuilt title.
