John Holmes in this quarter/mag of Ranch Dressing mentioned that the best road were in Nevada and Texas! I don't know what part of these states he has been in, but the Roads in Arizona are by far the best. The freeways in Arizona are some of the best in the country, and I think better then Texas or Nevada. Not that those states don't have good roads mind you, just aren't up the Arizona standards! I do agree with John that New Mexico needs to spend some money on their highways.
Another thing, where the heck did John buy fuel in Arizona at $4.19 per gallon? The only place I can think of would have been in Quartzite or Ehrenburg Arizona, because the highest it has ever been in the Phoenix area has been $3.79 per gallon and most of the time I have been paying $3.69. Prices in Arizona for Diesel has pretty much been the same for over a year. I traveled a good part of the country this past summer and only came across prices equal to Arizona in a couple of states. I stay on top of fuel prices where ever I go and I check the Arizona prices when I am away from there for comparison with other states.
Great article John, just thought I would straighten you out a bit. People from Texas have a tendency to over rate the state and that is okay I guess, LOL. I think the same thing about Arizona and South Dakota. Nothing personal John. :)

Instead of our Bullet Train to Nowhere project(which voter's approved) an infrastructure improvement bond in California would have made more sense.

I have been paying 3.34.9 for diesel in TEXAS,And our roads or for the main part pretty good, Years ago our FM roads used to be better than most major highways in other States, Stay in Az. and out of Texas and you won't have to worry about our roads, Have a nice day, Monte

I saw diesel in Wickenburg this weekend for $4.15, about 50 cents higher than in Phx. If you want to pay that much for fuel there are at least a couple stations in AZ that will gladly take the money. Even the truck stops in Kingman were 3.89.
