Good Sam Club

Anybody have a comment on this club. What is a good beneficial RV club to become a member off?

I belong and usally get my dues back back getting the 10% discount at most parks. I also ended up getting all my auto and RV insurance through them, although it is actually GMAC. I had our insurance risk manager at work check them out and they had a 6 star rating for serveral years in a row which she said was excellent. I saved a huge amount of $. I'm getting ready to buy their road assistance(towing etc) because they will tow RV's by people who know how and will tow to a RV dealer, not the closest gas station. I my opinion, I think they are ok.

I'm a life member. (I was 27 when they sent me the life member application. Good bang for the buck at my age. )

Pretty good / cheap towing insurance. (I don't have AAA. ) $99. 00 a year for members, you can get discounts down to $70. 00 at times. I've never heard anyone complain about it.

Monthly magazine about RVing.

Chapter in your area that get together and discuss Rving topics, go camping together, or share common interests. Samborees are a hoot, but I don't like burning my vacation to go to them. Fishing is more important.

I hear much easier and cheaper to get insurance for an F-450, F-550, and medium duty trucks through them than through a standard insurance agent.

I had a bad exp. with Good Sam road service ins.
I had been with my regular carrier for 30+years, with never a towing claim. About 4 years ago after many offers from Good Sam, I cancelled my towing ins and went with Good Sam emergency road service. It wasnt 6 months till one day my adult daughter's car was in the shop, so she borrowed ours for a 40 mile trip. Half way there the car quit. No problem I think, I call good sam??? to request a tow.
The person who answered said she had a few questions. Question about #1 was "Who was driving the car?" when I said my daughter, whe asked how old?. When I said she was an adult, the lady said sorry, no coverage.
I paid the 40 mile tow.
Called my old agent to ask about coverage, He said no problem, tow ins is on the vehicle not the driver. Needless to say, I cancelled with good sam and went back to a real ins. co.

I have been a member going on the 2nd year. I also feel like I get my money's worth through the discount given at parks where we camp at.

- Been a member for 10+ years, discount okay if you're traveling or staying in a good sam park- some places will take AAA or arp and it's the same % discount and they won't give you both #ad
but beware of the renewal notices they come frequently so you can think you are paying this years renewal when actually your paying next years. my folks are members too- had problems with the good sam insurance, they dragged their feet on a claim- and as for me they couldn't beat what I'm paying for insurance. the magazine is #ad
havn't made a samboree yet but my mom is envolved in the state level as a club represenative-- just food for thought---

I've had Good Sam tow insurance for the last 9 years. Never a problem. Have had to call them several times for a tow or jump start. Always on time and just sign the form and say Thank You. Good Sam Life member since the beginning. Worth it for me. And yes I recommend Good Sam.

I have been a Life Member for 15 years. I have more than gotten my money back. I like their monthly magazine too.
