Hello all --

I'm interested in picking up a used cummins 12v for a swap into a '94 ford... anybody know of a good source in the pacific northwest?

I'd love to find a totalled (sp?) Dodge for a loaner but haven't been succesfull at the local junk yards.

Price is a bit of a concern, and that's why I'm looking used as opposed to a reman.

Thanks for any leads.

I was hoping to come in around 3k or less... obviously the fewer miles the better. Most remans seem to be around 5k - 5. 5k

12v source

I just purchased a 96 12v w/87k through the TDR classifieds. It was reasonably priced compared to what our local junk yards wanted or what I could buy a total for.

Places I have checked are local paper, wrecking yards, EBay and online sites like this one and Diesel Engine Trader.

It was suggested to contact a salvage broker but I never made it that far.

Good luck

A hole in the oil pan, dunno if it was ran out've oil or not. Plus there's a FRAM filter screwed onto it? I think I'll pass. I guess the price is right though.

I know the 1st gen 12v that I'm working with is probably considered "inderior" to a lot of folks here, but it had a WIX filter on it, and more imprtantly, I got to hear it run before it was pulled!

I talked to the seller from the 98 12 valve on ebay. The hole in the oil pan is from the accident the truck was in. I could also see from the picture that the air horn was broken and the fan was bent. Still is a sweet deal there is a air horn on ebay right now for $33 so the fixes are pretty cheap.
