Anybody have one? I've seen pics but it's hard to tell what it would like mounted just by looking at the tip itself.

You can go to any over the road truck shop and pick 1 up they carry many sizes and styles for just a few bucks versus all the high prices of these forum feeders. I paid $12 for an alumanized 4" turn down at a local truck shop.

Geno's garage has them (chromed steel) that simply slip over the end of the pipe and you use the included band clamp to hold it in place...

I have one and it is holding up pretty well to road salt. I replaced a big "megaphone" type tip that came with my Summit Racing exhaust... it sounded horrible and was sooting up the rear quarter.

I installed the Geno's just last week. I had a similar one on my '95 dually. I don't point mine down, but to the rear where I want the exhaust noise and soot directed. It looks good and does what I want.

So... tell me why you feel that way ??? Just curious. . I have one from Geno's and like it OK.

Personal opinion. Seems like most of the ones I have seen are on some ol' geezers rig. And before feathers get ruffled, I am close to the age of the geez'. :(

I guess a turn down just does not look finished. Kinda like you have a chrome elbow near the end of your exhaust and the rest has fallen off. Add a nice straight tip and it looks like the exhaust system is done. Like an exclamation point.

And if you replaced that turn down with a nice 6" double wall straight tip you would like it better. :-laf

Problem is I have a white Dually. After 2 weeks the right fender is black. I don't particularly care for turndowns but I would prefer one over the constant cleaning of the fender.

I totally understand that. My old 04. 5 was white. Always had soot on the rear fender. Helped when I kept it washed and waxed. Lot'sa work but the truck looked nice.

I also would rather have the soot on the fender than a turn down. :D

And as we all know, that black mess on the fender means some where there is power.

See many of the other guy's with soot on their fenders? :-laf

I thought the 4" into 5" straight tip made my truck sound like a ricer... it sounds like a truck now with the turndown...

I bought mine because of the sound, the straight looked guady too IMO, but mainly to keep my rear quarter from turning black...

Slip a turn-down on your tail pipe and check it out before buying or permanently attaching. Nothing looks cooler than a turn-down pointed to the rear. You also blow that full-power puff of black straight back.

Personally, I don't care for the big chrome straight tips. Nothing personal, but that is what the 'geezers' around here do. :D

My last three duallies have been white. I use the Megs exhaust tip from Geno's on my trucks to keep off the soot. It also keeps the soot off the rear skirt of my Lance camper. I don't like turn down tips either.

This is the best picture I've got of my Mopar 4" < 5" rolled & slash-cut polished tip from over the counter at your local five star. The stock tip would throw up soot on to the lower corner and rearward section of my bedside on long trips. This mopar tip seems to keep the soot away and clear of the bumper and bedside now. Whats weird is that it ain't much larger looking or doesn't stick out much farther than the stock pipe. Quality is top notch as far as tips go, have not had it on through the winter so we will see how well it holds up against rust.

Anyone know where to get a BLACK turn down tip? My truck does not have any chrome on it and don't think it would look right with a shinny tip.
