I'm really getting tired of listening to the shutdown screech I get from my OEM belt. Can you guys give me a good source for the Gatorback belt ?

Thanks !!!!:) :) :)

I bought mine from a local parts outfit although I think he is associated with Parts Plus. I paid about $26. 00 for it when I wanted one. I am glad I bought it when I wanted and not NEEDED it. The listed price is $57. 00. Let me know if you want more info.

www.carparts.com has the Gatorback belt. This is the # for trucks with a/c, 4080810. Here is the 20% off coupon #3225017. When you go to this site you will have to type in the part # in the seach box to bring it up. There is a coupon redemption box to click on to redeem. Sam

DAWG-1 I think the part number was wrong the second digit is supposed to be a "0" not a "1", ordered two of them, with the discount, shipped to the house for $25. 00 each, locally they wanted anywhere from $40 to $55. Got two for the price of one.

Gotta love the TDR !!!!!

Thanks... everyone !!! :) :) :) :) :) :)

Seems I messed it again, Sorry agian:( . This is the correct part

# 4080810. I edited my original post and changed it to the correct part #, sorry about the confusion  ;) .

Will the gatorback belt fit my '99?

I went onto the carparts.com website, typed in the part# and the belt came up but it does not say what vehicle(s) it fits. I is also strange that when I do a belt search by yr, make, model etc. it lists other belts but not the gatorback for my '99 diesel.

I am also getting tired of the screech/chirp every time I shut the truck off. Does anyone have any experience changing the belt? How big a job is it? Any tips on what to do and not to do?

Changing the belt is VERY easy. Use a ling ratched to apply pressure against the tensioner and slip the belt off one of the pulleys. Thread it over the fand and it is free. Installation is the reverse and is just as easy. I made sure the belt was fully seated on the pulleys before I started it up. I had to pay a little more attentio nto the bottom of the crank pulley to make sure it was positioned properly. I probably spent 20 minutes for hte whole thing double checking everything. Once you change you'll never look back. It is great ot have eliminated the screech.

Sorry about the bad spelling. I had too many thumbs on the keyboard. I use a LONG RATCHET to get to the square hole in the tensioner arm. (Where is the spell check?)
