Hey guy's

I am looking for some good synthetic for the rears and 6 speed transmission. Not looking to start a brand war, just looking for a fluid that meets the specs of the manufacturer. I have heard of some guys running synthetics in the transmission and rear then having shifting issues wiuth the transmission and problems with the rears. I want to avoid that if at all possible. I want to buy this once and not change it to a different brand later. Thanks again, I am open to suggestions.

I have used Royal Purple in my diffs and for other applications with no problems at all. I am using Red Line MTL in the transmission.

I have been using the Amsoil synthetics in my CTD trucks since the first one I owned (1991) and I am now on my third, which is an 03' Six speed 4X4. I use the series 2000 75W-90 in the differentials, ATF in the Xfr Case, and 5W-30 in the NV-5600. Installed all these fluids at 8,500 miles, and now have nearly 37,000 on the truck. The transmission shifts very nicely, even in the dead of winter. And yes I am a dealer, and if I were not, I would still use the product, as I thnk it is very high quality. ;)

I like Valvoline Synpower 75-90 for the axles. I use the stock fluid (Pennzoil Synchromesh) for my transmission.

Are you trying to find one product that you can use in the NV5600 and axles? If so, they are totall different specs. The transmission uses what is basically engine oil with special additives for their application. The axles use synthetic 75W-90 gear lube.

I use the Pennzoil Syncromesh in the transmission (still factory fill at this time) and just changed the rear diff to Mobil 1 75W-90.

I am pretty conservative and will not use fluids that I cannot confirm if they meet the spec for the intended applicaiton, so I will only use a fluid that meets spec MS-9224 in the NV5600, which (as far as I know), can only be found in the factory fluid or the Pennzoil fluid. Other have had good results experimenting with other fluids; I prefer not to go there.
