First off hello to everyone. I am a new member. I just got my truck a couple of months ago from a good friend. He sold it to me cheap because it was having automatic transmission problems again. He blew the transmission and decided to take it to Danco Transmission in Sharonville, OH. They rebuilt it 4 times under a 12,000 mi. warranty. The transmission is still not right and I am looking into my options for when it goes again. I have been reading about the ATS and DTT. Is there any good transmission shops within 100 mi to 150 mi from Cincinnati that can build an automatic transmission to hold the power of a cummins? Thank you everyone for your help!

Hi I live pretty close to you and while there are many transmission shops in our area, there is none that I would take my Dodge to. The type of work you would need done, is more specialized and very application specific. When I needed trany work, I went with ATS. They are one of maybe three or four companies that specialize in your particular needs. For the installation, I chose to go to TST in Columbus, Indiana. It is roughly a hundred miles south west of Cincinnati, and the service is great. They really know diesels, they are most likely the founding fathers of the diesel revolution with there Power plates. I checked around before I settled on them, but truly there wasn't much to check on in this area. You might find a shop or two closer, but you will not find one better. Also when I needed trany work,I was able to buy a completely re-built transmission with all the up-grades and vale body from ATS, cheaper then a stock re-build from Billy Bob local.

I can post here right?!

Great transmission builder. Also call the other big three or four, and talk to them tell em what you got, and what you use your rig for and they can all set you up with a good transmission. He's not real close but well worth the drive.

I agree about ATS. Clint Cannon & his family designed and built the ATS TripleLok for guys who tow heavy and hard, back and forth over the Rockies around Denver. I think they have done the most thorough job of engineering of all the Performance Trans. Builders.

I've had my ATS Stage IV in for 2 years, 35,000 miles, and I love it! I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It's the best thing I ever did to my truck.

Here is the Thread I posted when I got back from Denver and getting my Trans.
