Why Can't I Paint?

Chippewa fan here!

Only boots I've used that haven't fallen apart in a year or two. I wear boots every day and they hold up well. I own a pair of sneakers and they are about 4 years old. Look brand new though, I think I've worn them 3-4 times.

I wear only the "Made in the USA" models. I have not tried Redwings But I have heard they are good as well.

Redwings

I bought Redwings back when I was driving truck, they were a good boot, however, they got too high priced, and quality started to go downhill. I used to resole every year, then it got to every six months, then the uppers started to crack after a year. Like I said before, I am in boots almost everyday, for 60-70 hours a week, in all types of conditions, from cold, heat, water, snow, mud, wading in gasoline, diesel, and NGL, the Michelins hold up. The uppers are solid THICK leather, heavy stitching, and the soles are TOUGH. They have excellent traction on all surfaces, in all liquids.

The price is right, they last me well over a year, of course the price is low enough to allow a pair, a year under company policy, so I just get a new pair every year. :D Try the gearsix, they work for me. .

for guys with wide feet the redwings dont do the job there very tight even with the really wide ones, the top is still tight, i dont like the way they fit nor do i liek the price

thanks for all of the replys, i just picked up a pair of red wing 2270's for $150 at a local western/work clothes store. they are quite comfortable and look great.

thanx

Redwings all the way. You get what you pay for. I've tried Wolverines and returned them in 20 days since they died on me. I've also killed a few pairs I ordered from Cabellas.

Currently I am trying to kill my 2nd set of Redwings that I've ever owned http://www.redwingshoe.com/productdetails.aspx?prodid=1177 . The first pair is bald but just fine and stays in my truck as a spare pair. Can't beat Redwing boots.

That's funny CF... I've been watching this thread but figured workboots are just like opinions, and... . well, I wasn't going to bother posting.

I've been through quite a bit on work boots over 20 years, and every year we all compare notes on what held up. I tried Michelins two years ago, and they are no doubt my favorite, especially when you factor in the price. Given a choice of a free pair of red wings or whatever, I'd take the michelins. Comfortable, lightweight for a steel toe, and they hold up well.

I have tried most brands and have yet to have a pair last more than 6 months, most only lasting 3-4 months. But , then my work environment isnt like most. I am in need of a waterproof, oilproof, non slipping (very hard)sole that wont melt or puncture easy. Any ideas ?

Best boot that I have ever bought is Danners... I wear them 6-7 days per week. Never been a fan of Redwings. .

Rick

I have been waiting for someone to say DANNERS..... :D ... I have had White's boots cusom made, i have had several pairs of Redwings... . Both companies told me that from now on they will sell me there boots but WILL NOT WARRENTY them anymore for me... . Guess I was too HARD on them... .

Danner on the other hand so far have been no problem other than the soles wearing out... . But so far they re-sole them under warrenty being the soles are gone within 7-9 months... . :-laf
