My 1998 came with the RTS 245/75/16 load range E tires.

within a couple months, I started noticing little bubbles on the sidewall, which would "pop", then you could stick your finger in the hole and feel the belt shifting.

I had Goodyear "adjust" 3 of them within the first 25K miles. When they adjust them, the price of the tire is so high, it cost a good bit of money.

So finaly I gave up and put Cooper's on.

(and saved the goodyears waiting for the government to force them to replace them)

Anyway, I see in the internet that Goodyear is replacing these same tires on 15 passanger vans because of tread seperation.

so I call goodyear.

they explain to me "this is not a recall, we are just installing better tires on these 15 passanger vans because they have the tendency to role over".

I reply "my truck is rated to carry more weight then that van, they are the same tires, the tire was redesigned since mine were made to correct the problem, I have already paid for 3 adjustments, and your not going to help me because my truck sits lower to the ground, and will probably not role over when the tread comes off and kill me?"

What a Joke, Goodyear needs to go out of bussiness.

Towpro, That's exactally what my experience was with my Goodyears. I replaced em with Michelins but I'm saving the Goodyears in case of a govt. forced recall. Now I'm worried about the trailer tires and am getting the same lousy responce from them.

What a piece of junk they are. Expensive, too! Go figure!

I know what you mean about the trailer tires. I got a 30' 5er with badyear WT's 205-75-16 range E. Even with 80 psi in them they look overloaded (not Goodyears fault, fleetwood put them on there) I noticed the GVW of the trailer is the 4 tires max weight range, plus the pin weight, sure hate when a tire is the weak link. There 3 years old now, and have not had a problem, (knock on wood) except the spare only holds air for 2 weeks, but that may be those junk bolt in valve stems.

I leave Friday morning for a 9 hour tow to the Outer Banks of NC, hope everything holds together!

Have fun guys, talk to you after Laborday
